Can we not descend to CLs lack of humour level? The puns are just not funny. Also what is not funny is that there are two weeks to go to a new season, there is no takeover, no CEO, no CFO, no permanent Manager, about six players short of a squad that will compete for promotion. 5000 season ticket holders. The Club is a shambles and an embarrassment.
Totally agree, although one thing noticeable about the CL Glitterati is their lack of a sense of humour. Apparently if you put a “ “ after a pompous post, that denotes humour. Good to see a couple of the Aussie sceptics back posting again, although watch them now get pounced on.
Totally agree, the amount of bullying of Doucher and other posters is disgusting. You are not allowed to have an alternative view on CL. Talk about double standards. Certain posters get treated differently by the moderators, they seem to be able to say what they want without recourse.
Personally I think ST re newers are bonkers given the takeover farce. If they paid by credit card, the bank is holding onto their money I don’t buy the “buy I want to keep my favourite seat” argument - there will be over 20,000 empty ones v Shrewsbury!
The fundamental problem over there is a weak moderator who allows 2-3 posters to have carte blanche. Sound As A £ is a good poster however.
Pretty accurately summed up the stalemate as this- 1. Duchatelet can’t sell the Club without the ex Director’s £7m charges being cleared. 2. The Aussies - even if they have the money - won’t buy the Club until the charges are cleared. 3. Duchatelet won’t pay off 6 of the 7 ex Directors, so cant do to the deal. 4. The other 6 ex Directors are independently wealthy and all despise Murray, so don’t need to accept 25p in the £ derisory offers. Stalemate. Meanwhile, the Club itself slowly dies. We have a manager on a monthly contract, a shrinking fan base, and a laughably small playing squad. Much of the fault lies with Murray, IMO. The Aussies are also culpable, all fur hat and no knickers.
The only thing that we have learned has changed in the 75 days since the Aussies showboated at the Play offs - 1. The Aussies are not very good at paperwork 2. Murray was partly behind the 25p in the £ offer to the ex Directors, after the Konsa sale. To think some fans used to believe that the Wolves fan “loved” Charlton...it was his passion blah blah blah. All he has ever cared about, going right back to 2006, is himself and his status.
Some proper Charlton fans are starting to get angry with the non Takeover and the Aussies in particular. We are like a boat that is languishing in the middle of an ocean with the motor gone. Nobody is coming to rescue us.
The anger of proper, long term Charlton fans needs to manifest itself in a boycott of the first home game IMO. Enough is enough. More important issues at stake now than just watching a game of football from your favourite seat.
I can’t see where the confusion can now be ? It really is the equivalent of enjoying the brass band on the Titanic.
This problem with the take-over because of the payments to ex-directors - does it affect only this take-over (the Australian buyers) or does it mean that Duchatelet will never be able/willing to sell Charlton? If this ex-director issue will kill any potential take-over then the Club is in very serious trouble indeed. Possibly terminal trouble. Your description of the Club 'slowly dying' could be literally true Royston.
