    Not suggesting that they all play at the same time obviously, just merely suggesting that maybe our attacking options might not turn out to be as poor as some people think.

    Redmond was never really international-quality, he got a look in during a period where Southgate was casting a pretty wide net, got a single sub appearance, and that was that. He wasn't exactly blowing the doors off in that season.

    Austin hasn't been healthy with any consistency for three years.

    Long has been a PL player for a decade; the one year where he scored 10 looks rather like an outlier.

    Is it possible that any one of those three happens? Sure. But I'd say that the odds of any one of those happening is well short of 50/50, and the odds of all three of those happening are truly steep.

    Nathan had a good season under Puel, Shane should never be judged purely on his goals and injury can happen to any player at any time there is no reason to expect that Charlie WILL get injured before it even happens.

    Former Southampton defender Jose Fonte has signed a two-year deal with Lille after leaving Chinese side Dalian Yifang.

    The Portugal international is currently in the stands as his new side take on Everton in a pre-season friendly.

    I hope i win the lottery and i reckon my chances are better than Long becoming clinical, Chaz staying injury free and Redmond getting better.

    It does make me wonder why Nathan is particularly singled out for a poor season when in truth most of the squad performed below their usual standard but nothing is said about some of them.
