There’s a campaign on social media with the above hashtag. I bet most of them don’t even have a ST so their boycott may be one or two games Max. Plus they clearly don’t remember the times pre Keegan. I also wonder if they boycotted when Keegan left or when Robson left. They shouldn’t call it a boycott... they should just simply not turn up. Their seat will be filled by another fan who wants to support NUFC. The club will outlast the fat man and flouncing off ain’t gonna help the team try their best on the pitch.
I'm in the opposite camp here ACS, because I feel that a full house at St James' vindicates Ashley ****ing us over every season. You're actually not supporting the forward momentum of the club, or Rafa, you're telling the owner "no investment is fine, I'll still turn up". What I do agree on is the fact that it would not work as a movement, because ST holders are engrained with your opinion, and wouldn't want to risk their seat by staying away until Ashley gives back. It's why we have brilliant fanatics, supporting Newcastle tends towards mental illness. Ideal scenario for me would be fans supporting the manager and refusing to renew tickets until he is backed, but I understand that will never ever happen.
It has the potential to derail our season. This coupled with a tough set of starting fixtures and we've set the media up for another season of NUFC bashing. I get the despondency and disillusion but, like you say, we're Newcastle supporters and the team deserves said support. They haven't made one of the decisions the fat man made and for the first time, in a long time, I felt proud of the effort put in by the collective through the whole of last season. They don't deserve this and I'm sure when Rafa gets questioned he won't be in favour of anything that can affect us getting a result, in any given game. They're just as much a fan as the rest so they're entitled to do what they want, however I'm entitled to guarantee them it won't achieve the desired results and can only harm us on the field
Agreed, I think there are better ways to show displeasure than to stay clear altogether from matches. For example Banners, Media releases, protesting his SD stores (preferably burn them to the ground - although he'll just get a huge insurance payout...) or A(1)S(19)H(8)L(12)E(5)Y(25) adds up to 70. Walking OUT for the final 20 mins of a game or something to this effect although again it's always nice to clap the players off the pitch.
Yeh, if we can find ways to push the 'support the team not the regime' philosophy that would be great. The reality is we're still a team that could get relegated this season and the fans can have a bigger impact on that than sometimes realised. Imagine fat man trying to sell us in the event of relegation, more likely it'll be another 3 year cycle of what we're currently in. I say do something to wind him up and piss him off, thousands of fans turning up dressed as the fat controller or some **** and still having a laugh. He's not going anywhere regardless of what we do anyway. Think he sees walk outs and protests as extra exposure for the 6000 SD signs, all publicity is good publicity.
We criticised the Mackems no end for staying away.... so we want to go down to their level and do the same? ...... really?
I heard one good suggestion - turn up to matches, but everyone carries a sign advertising JD Sports/Decathlon.
A massive banner stretching across the East Stand criticising the hell out of Mike Ashley. Right in front of the Sky cameras. He will hate it. His **** eating friend David Craig will be making all sorts of excuses.
Bombard them with emails, I did: Can Mr Bishop explain what is going on at NUFC? No one else has a clue so maybe being their PR guru he could spread some light on the situation? That is if he can get Ashley's cock out his mouth long enough. **** THE COCKNEY MAFIA x https://www.kbapr.com/contact-us/
Some have been saying that it would be good to get big chants up along the lines of: 'sports direct is full of ****'
