I tend to agree with the OP. It definitely arrogance from Chelsea, I reckon if we put in a £8 million bid in for Daniel Sturridge, well thats all he's worth, he's not exactly prolific, he's not an international and he's a 5th choice striker. He's behind Dogbreath, Le Sulk, El No No, and Kalou. So £8 million is fair, however Chelsea would reject it without question. Chelsea have gone beyond their station, for a small club in Fulham, they've got a bit too big for the their boots. In some ways Man City having all that money is a good thing, and Liverpool having not exactly poor owners either is also a good thing. It makes both Man United and Chelsea realise that the premiership is a competition, and they can't have everything their own way.
Sturridge = 21, Meireles = 28 you conspicuous dickhead . He also isn't 5th choice, he will be played on the right rotating with Anelka. I'd actually rather have Sturridge than the alcoholic pikey you have up front at the moment
If they offer Kalou or Sturridge it would be hard to turn round, maybe we should offer - Sturridge + Kalou + Yossi for Meireles + £10million That'd be worth it considering the following values - £12-15million - Kalou £8-10million - Sturridge £1-3million - Yossi £12-18million - Meireles
Andy Carroll is not an alcoholic, he's a saint compared to some people that represented your club John ''Don't leave your missus with me'' Terry, Ashley ''Here's a picture of me in my boxer shorts'' Cole and Denis ''I love beating up taxi drivers'' Wise and Graham ''Gary Glitter'' Rix.
If we lose Merieles to Chelsea I will be peeved to say the least. We cannot sell players like that to the likes of Chelsea. They won't offer any players that we would actualy benefit from. For months and months we have all said Merieles or Aquaman. If we ended up with neither it would be poor business in my opinion. Chelsea can stroll on I think.
There is a number of things Chelsea need to realise. 1. Liverpool are not managed by Roy Hodgson. 2. Liverpool are not owned by Hicks and Gillett, they don't need to sell because they don't need the money. They will only consider selling on their terms, their terms need to be adhered to, as Raul Mereiles is under contract to Liverpool and has a healthy contract. If they do not want to adhere to it, they can go get stuffed. 3. Liverpool will not in any shape or form be bullied by a small club in Fulham, not now, not ever.
You sure you want to pick at that scab? I wasn't JUST insulting his alcohol problem, nevermind beating up his own brother and leaving him stranded on holiday - he's a ****E substandard striker. Have a pop at Torres but at least he did something at Liverpool
Also where are you from? If it's anywhere but Liverpool I really have no interest in continuing a debate with you.
I remember having a debate with redconn and Skylarker a couple of weeks ago and they said they thought Gerrard, Aquilani and Meireles were your best three CMs, in that order. So I'm not sure why you'd consider letting both of them go tbh - that seems to undo the additional strength in depth you got when you brought in Henderson and Adam.
A lot more than Liverpool's does from Liverpool Plus it's not really the points, I still don't care for those who support us and aren't from London. I'll then rephrase - I don't mind as much if they're from England
That was taking into account the fact that our new boys were still in the process of settling in and i think it was about CAM's. Since the beginning of the season i think we can see how well Adam has settled and also with likes of Downing, Lucas, Henderson, and Spearing all on form, I think we have plenty in case Meireles does go, but i think he would definitely be missed to a certain extent. Also with Gerrard due back soon our midfield would still have plenty of depth. And also Swarbs i think i rated Aquilani purely on pre-season, where i did think he was one of our stand out players
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/4581555.stm And,"England"?,whats all that about?.
I think it was redconn who said they were your three best central midfield players, not just CAMs. This was only a couple of weeks, so only two games, ago. Although you were definitely saying that Aquilani got MOTM quite a few times when playing last season and that you felt he was definitely up to the standard required at LFC. I'm not saying you have weakened your team, but then it seems strange that two of your major signings, Henderson and Adam, have effectively just replaced two fairly similar quality players in an area that was probably your strongest last season. And yet you still don't have any new strikers or centre backs.
Bollocks Ballacks! Just because your club lack a worldwide support don't get so jealous. For my part there is NOBODY at your club that i would want for our side. Even with the talk above about Sturridge you have to accept that we would only want him as a 3rd Change striker
