Brazil goalkeeper Alisson completed his move to the Reds from AS Roma on Thursday, joining Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri in arriving at the club during the summer transfer window. Following a successful medical and having put pen to paper, the 25-year-old completed his first interview as a Liverpool player and had some fun with our photographer - as you can see in the gallery below…

You keep forgetting it's him that brought balotell i along with his spreadsheet. this is all klopps doing. you should be travelling at klopps feet not a spreadsheet warrior.
Exactly this. He hasn’t gone from a 2/10 to a 9/10 success rate just like that. Klopp has had the Midas touch so far. If Keita, Fabhino, Shaqiri and Alisson have the same impact as Mane, Salah, Robertson and VvD then we will really take a step forward.
The way I see it is that the scouts have always identified these players but didn’t get buy off from Rodgers, which is what hindered us in the past. Now we have a manager who works with our scouts instead of against.
Yeah - Klopp stitches it all together nicely and he’s been very complimentary about the scouting team. We are a long way away from what we had 4 years ago and there is now absolute trust between Klopp and the owners and Klopp and his back room team.
Ahem. Rogers claimed he was offered etto or balotell I to replace Suarez. You cannot deny markovic, just cannot. These guys in the infamous committee bought a shower of ****e. Things are utterly different now.... why? Cos the direction is very very clear. I fail to see quite How mane, salah, vvd, Alison, kieta are players identified by scouts. Some have clear klopp comments about being away of them from Dortmund days.. If the scouts identified players then they should identify Alison before he goes to Roma.... Klopp has set a very clear list of requirements and the focus is on attitude and personality. The research being done on players is much more in depth now. Not spreadsheet numbers, actually looking at how player interacts with teammates and fans on a daily basis
Course he has cos he is a humble guy and great man manager. Look at how some managers praise their team of staff cos they are true leaders and some who are all ego and it's all about them. Nobody here need guess which Manchester based manager fits in which camp there.
Klopp isn’t a scout. Not at Liverpool and wasn’t at Dortmund. Not disputing that edwards has an easier job signing players because of a) more money to offer and b) Klopp is a big pull.
And c) he’s been steered in the right direction for type of player required to suit our club/style/culture and d) Klopp has the final say so immediately bins the sh*t suggestions.
You are missing the point. let me be clear. a) klopp is a great leader of men. b) klopp has a clear philosophy which he drives through his recruitment. he is extremely clear what he requires and what is looked for in a player. a scout only needs to execute. make the plan work the plan. c) everyone is pulling in the one direction behind the strategy. nobody is buying their player any more they are executing to klopps plan. you would be amazed what having clear direction can do and how much easier it makes everyone's work. you are right that more.money available = easier to execute a deal as you don't spend 6 months arguing over 50p with a club. Alisson is a case in point. it took 2 days. why.. we knew from his agent it was on. no real Madrid. we bid. Roma are firm in what they wanted. we paid what they wanted we did not argue between 64 and 67 mil basically... apparently. the truth will come out as Roma have to publish full details for their shareholders. ayre and before him parry lost out on players over 2 mil. shaqiri is just one example. that's fine... the central.point is this is all down to klopp as the leader. Mike Gordon is the guy who is backing klopp and the other fsg heads dont get involved. as long as Gordon says yes money is there they all go execute on jurgens plan. trust me on this one. they are all pulling in the one direction but the key is every player is absolutely 100% a fit in style and personality and klopp wants and needs them all. we are 2 players from the ideal.. maybe 3. we have enough in the squad to go close as we stand but prob need just a touch of luck now with fitness. we are as close now as Rafa ever was imo.
Looks like it’s bad news over Fekir - apparantly insurance company won’t cover him because of his knee.
can't we just insure the other knee only then be a bit like 3rd party fire and theft compared to fully comp
