Our season will be defined by the relative strengths of the squads and set ups in the league and as things stand its going to be a struggle not to get relegated. On a positive note perhaps its all part of a plan and we have targets that we are going to land, but it sure as hell doesn't look like it at the minute. Only just discovered Belgrano is living just down the road from me, if I see him out and about I will educate him..
How tall is Viera and how much does he weigh? FFS this wonder coach doesn't seem to have a clue about what league he is supposed to be competing in if that's right! We have to win the ball before we can start tippy tappying it about. Even then the big lumps we will play against are going to steamroller us again! It's not complicated but you need 7 big units and three skillful outfield players
Maybe as the floating centre back in the formation, but your right. Viera and even Philips wont cut it back there IMO
Says the Mick that has started copying and pasting my output and trying to pass it off as your own work!
At the current rate of progress from Rad/Orts and his previous history he might deserve a gold clock if he gets to September. He isn't responsible for Rad not getting the money spent to get some decent players in.
Sorry Shaks, I'm a pessimist by nature, but these games are about fitness & formation in preparation for the 1st game of the season. Unless that game was about assessing who can be added to the main 1st team squad then it was a complete waste of time imho.
If Bielsa is trying an U20 world cup winning midfielder at centre back (as well as Phillips) my faith in him is fast evaporating.
Of course it's all about the fitness/tactics/positions. It matters not a jot if we win lose or draw. What pisses me off is that some supporters are judging these games as a defining factor for the forthcoming season. Our new manager/coach will hopefully know who is his first team by the time the Stoke game comes around. I may be wrong but I think we could be in for a surprise.
Hope you're right pal, because the squad doesn't look any stronger than last season so at the moment we really are pinning our hope on this bloke being a wonder coach
Paul Madeley could play anyway, bar goalie. Maybe Bielsa is just giving himself other options and he'll know that he has players that can play out of their normal positions if he needs them during a game.
Trying I guess is the key word here. I dont think he plays the traditional centre back, so lets wait and see Hes hopefully having a good look at who can do what before he suggests where needs strengthening which makes complete sense to me. Lets just hope the investment in the squad comes!
