The latest self pitying Tweet from Louis Mendez.

    D6F534AA-7943-4FA6-BBB1-EE1816A3157E.png

Said it before, will say it again.

Duchatelet has been with us for over 4 years, and during that time a select handful of people chose to stay for the duration, and be paid by him. Nobody forced them to do it - there are plenty of jobs out there on the open market.

It also rather reinforces the point that this select handful see Charlton as a place where it is somehow their “right” to have a job or a role, rather than it being a football club like any other.

No point bleating about being forced to turn the lights off now, when Duchatelet gave you a wage for 55 months while you knew full well the damage he was doing to Charlton. Duchatelet turned the lights off for many real fans some years ago.

I imagine the vast majority of us have towed the line and stuck with a job even though we disagree strongly with things.

Stop being a bottom Mr van Gerwen.

I think moaning about being asked to turn the lights off is pathetic, especially given the other issues afflicting the club.

Stop being a crawler Mr Corbett.

Ffs Mr van Gerwen, you do it on purpose.

If there were active moderators on this board I'd request action taken.

Nope, did I force Mr Mendez to Tweet that?

Reminds me of 10 years ago, when Waggott put an end to match day booze. The same clique moaned then.

    I'd moan as well.

There is surely a bit of a difference between the 'elite' staff (senior people who probably are ambitious regarding their futures at CAFC) and the staff at the bottom of the pile who do the least skilled work and are most likely to get laid off.

Turning the lights off will save virtually no energy. Modern electronic run fluorescent is not like old fashioned filament lamps.
And the company that employs me doesn't wash my work clothing, I do that at home.

Making youth squad players in our academy pay for their own breakfasts is wrong. But it sounds as though some CAFC employees have been enjoying some perks that almost nobody else would expect from their job.

Lots of employers ask staff to turn the lights off when not using a room. Common sense, surely ? This is just virtue signalling by Mendez.

Lots of employers with a site the size of the Valley have building management systems so the lighting can be programmed to more or less look after itself.
I wonder what (if any) systems they use there.

    Sorry :emoticon-0113-sleep just professional interest.

What is virtue signalling? Sounds a bit saucy and Elizabethan, hey nonny no!

Mr van Gerwen is not happy unless he is, in no particular order.

    Arguing
    Criticising
    Taking the p***
    Stalking
    Wishing he had hair
