I dunno about anyone else, but I take that as a compliment. What could be better than a glorious ****? Unless you prefer arseholes, in which case I think we have that sufficiently covered as well
Set up a dedicated leaving thread please. We need to take the piss when you flounc off. Hopefully we’ll see the pouch back soon....
I prefer glorious potty minded, filthy over sensitive beeping ex Mackem turncoat **** myself. But each to their own.
I disagree but will allow a debate on that matter. 8pm tomorrow we can all get together and have a mass debate over Free-dors fannies.
All laughing aside, rumour is we're trying to get West Brom to agree to loan Rondon now because his release clause is too high.
I just cannot see the logic in getting Rondon. He is no better than what we already have. Unless we loan and sell mitro and Gayle which will just leave us to short. Maybe it’s time for Rafa to reconcile things with mitro. I’m convinced he could do a job as good if not better than most of the strikers we are linked with. On a side note everyone has opinions. Some positive and some negative that’s the point of the forums. But past history and current form on promises is what makes people negative and until the players arrive that negativity will remain. Promises that are not kept create mistrust. And I believe the vast majority of us mistrust Ashley!
Doesn't make a lick of sense to me, in terms of not paying the fee. It's not as if its high - it doesn't even beat our own transfer record. It doesn't beat the transfer record of anyone in the top flight, more or less, and if this is really the player Rafa wants (hard to believe, tbh) then just get him. He's had the release clause for two months, but it just seems very Mike/Lee to drag it on and on and on trying to eke out a cheaper deal, which in the end will just be the same. Maybe it's an accountant thing. I honestly don't get it. Simply put, again, where's the money? We're £6m in profit as things stand from player sales alone!! Everything we do just smacks of desperate penny pinching. I get the World has moved on, but wouldn't it be great to have watched NUFC steamroller into Nice and just buy Plea for £22m? We offer under what they're asking, BMG just paid the going rate. Jorgensen, same. We did it with Berahino. We tried it with Lacazette. I could go on and on, but it's history repeating and the result - ending up with players like Joselu - is always the same. The club will not and cannot ever seem to learn. Mark my words, we will enter this season following yet another abject window of failing to recruit a decent striker, and relegation will be on the agenda as soon as Rafa packs it in next year. We are always going to keep getting relegated under Mike. Always.
The rumour mill is working overtime that Rondon is the one Rafa wants. He's his top target. Whereas I get his goal record is no great shakes, I do think the lad is decent. The fee seems extortionate - 16.5m or 4m loan with a further 15m payable. I suppose its the going rate though. I thought Rafa would be taking a different approach. IF it is his top target then I suppose we just have to back the managers judgement. He is certainly more mobile than Mitrovic. He's 28 now so resale might be a problem. Maybe the loan as a try before you buy is the way to go? Would Danny Welbeck not be worth a cheeky bid? A bit injury prone but he is ideally suited to the way Rafa likes to play.
We won't pay Welbeck's wages, simple as that. Can we get him on loan? Looking at the options I understand there's not a lot on. Think I'd be in favour of us taking a punt on some lesser known that's been knocking them in for fun somewhere else. A Tosun type who we will relentlessly chase for 3 windows, not buy, watch a bigger team eventually buy and then be forced into spending 5 mill on another Joselu. Buy hey what do I know, I'm just being optimistic that we might spend more than 4 mill on one player this window.....
If Rafa doesn't get a sensible amount of resources there is no incentive to agree an extention to his contract insuring a downward spiral which would cost the fat twat alot more than £18m.
I actually think he now has no intention of extending. He’ll see it through, then leave on his terms. Why would anyone stay under these restrictions. Rondon on loan ffs! We probably won’t even get him, hence wheeling out Tosselu for an interview. I expect a late flurry of sales and low rent replacements. Pound for pound we should expect no more or less.
Rafa confirms that Mike has NUFC running on full austerity mode this summer: “We have some enquiries about some of our players and Lee Charnley is working on that. We will see if we have any news in the next few days. Obviously, we need to move players if we want to have money to spend on players. We will see how quick the others can go." “Always in the window, you have to do things quickly; if not, you’re losing your targets, and then you go, later on, to players that maybe are not as good as you are expecting in different positions. We will try to sign the right players with the characteristics that we will need for the games. If you go early, you can sign the first or second choice. If not, you go deeper and deeper (down the list of targets). The fans need to understand these players here are giving everything, so we have to support them. “We cannot say ‘oh, he is not good enough’ because, sometimes you cannot sign the players you want but the players that are good for you and the squad. At least we are trying to bring professionals that care.” https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...s/rafa-benitez-says-newcastle-united-14918577
But why? So we can go through this charade every year, aspiring for 40 points and bemoaning the lack of transfers? IDC if we do go down, and I'm beyond hoping or even caring if Rafa stays.
