Well within them if we are having to sell to buy this summer. It had better be part of a ruse to stop asking prices inflating for us because there would be no excusing it if every penny of last seasons TV money disappeared. Yeah, sure we can take into account the slightly artificial losses posted for the Championship season, but a decent wedge should still have been left to play with. Was it £30million or so? Add to that the Sissoko installment for this summer and the Merino money so far received... Things aren't adding up too well so far. Plenty of time left though to ensure we strengthen where required at the expense of profit making. I'm now going to kick back and wait for someone (Pouchy) to reply with a detailed breakdown of how all the TV money was used up before the transfer window even opened.
We’ll be scratching around for Dings and Origami before someone we’ve heard of turns up. At least the media are in the right place for our usual purchases - scrabbling around the PL Reserves League. Guess that’s why Nickson never goes abroad, he’s too busy watching Boro 2nd XI.
. Only one comment really. There is nothing artificial about independently produced accounts from a leading accounts practice. I have no idea why people can’t just accept our finances were in **** order.
I had no idea you were privy to what we have, who we’ve bid for and who rafas choice is? What’s that you don’t and you’re just speculating based on paper chat? Tut tut
Agreed that they were in bad order, but that was the accounts for the Championship season over 12 months ago now. We all know over £120m came in from the prize funds last year so at worst we should have is a few quid in the bank to spend this summer. People are asking - if Rafa can have the money the club generates why are putting in £20m offers and still not signing targets (see below)? As much as I don't particularly like the man he is thorough in everything he does and will know the associated costs of everything I'd assume but we still can't get deals over the fabled line. The Toon boss was eager to have all of his business done by this stage of the summer but has only landed three players so far. Alassane Pléa was a player Benitez wanted to sign but the Magpies were outbid by Borussia Mönchengladbach . Benitez said: “He was one of the names on the list.”
Question put to him was "did you want Plea". His response (quoted): Now aside from getting him on the ****ing phone, I don't quite get what you're defending here?
Oh, you’re serious? Why on earth are those nasty men from HMRC investigating our papers then? Sorry, I’m sure Penfold will have a perfectly legitimate answer to all their questions.
Christ alive, that's still going on? And there was me thinking the Beardsley debacle was taking a long time.....
I can’t see any where he says he was his choice, simply he was somewhere on the list. Or how much we bid or didn’t bid. Rather than Rafa being all cryptic then why not just say what’s happened? Either he’s another Pardew slavering up to Mikey or he is being deliberately vague for his own benefit. As it is we are going along nicely - squad is looking good.
So he just on the list. We don’t know if we’ve bid, how much or he has chosen them over us. People are just letting hysteria get the better of them. It’s typical of certain NUFC supporters in the transfer windows. At the last count the finances were poor. Charnley did suggest they were back on an even keel. Hardly a reason to go spending. I think the bigger issue is we still have 5/6 deadwood to this manager in Mbemba, Mitro, Sels, Colback, Lazaar, Saivet plus Hayden and maybe Ritchie
In my humble opinion Ashley is not being financially responsible, he's actually bleeding us dry and we're paying him to do it. People have been outraged for years about Mugabe's behaviour in Zimbabwe, he's been a f@cking good mentor to Ashley
Surely even in the wum code of conduct there has to be a rule against this much slander. Pardew just replaced any possible truth with the talk of lines.
