"I Have A Dream" 1982 .. best world cup song ever .. at least you skirt wearing fannies were good at something
I didn't actually choose to ignore the rest of your post and I largely agree with the above. I can't even remember what it said and cba to look back! The 3rd place game we put a strong team out and clearly wanted a medal. The Belgium game they also played a second team so we can't use that excuse. We got to the semi final, good achievement. Very much doubt we'll match that anytime soon due to the way the draw will go. Every decent team we played beat us, that says to me our next tournament will be a bog standard wipe out. Unless we get a very favourable draw again - which lets be honest is very unlikely.
... and something I treasure ... given that the sad sack actually thinks Quentin is the height of sophisticated and intellectual wummery ... no wonder Snow White never even gave him a mention
Well, I agree. If anyone has noticed my posts pertaining to the England Nt, I’m quite critical. So as for this tournament, there’s a couple of things. Yes, the path was “easy” but certainly they can’t be blamed for that. Yes, everything went south quickly when the level of competition stiffened. But here’s the thing - one could argue that past England teams might’ve failed in beating who they should beat, where at least this one didn’t.
Have to agree ... the so called golden generation were the biggest disappointment to ever pull on the national shirt ...and repeatedly
True. We beat what was put in front of us until we came up against a better side. At least we didn’t suffer the embarrassment of losing to ****ing Iceland this time,
Exactly. Standards had slipped to the point that I fully expected to get knocked out in last 16 at best. To then beat decent Colombia and Sweden sides exceeded any expectation. The 3rd place is genuinely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, it matters not one jot.
You thought I was Scottish, you also thought Dan Starkey was Scottish, maybe it's best you stop casting aspersions about what constitutes being thick?
So there's Nigel's, Patrick's, a William and a Dai on the thread. Not quite what Aldo was aiming for tbh.
Funnily enough DevoidOfGreyMatter my paternal great grandfather came over from Tipperary and his son married a Scot... I'm actually eligible to wear the Clan Ross tartan ... none of which affects my ability to detect skirt wearing fannies on a footie forum
