... I might not have been being entirely serious... ...but it is rather fun watching the self Proclaimers (pun intended) of wummery spinning like a couple of pissed up girls on a waltzer whilst still professing to have wound up the English ...
You know what’s funny (or sad) about this too? And I don’t even know if you guys will believe me on this, but it’s true and speaks to the level of American ignorance on football and the UK. Although Celtic is indeed iconic and recognizable as a brand even to non fans, the fact that the kit is green and white and the fact that people may know they are not a PL team, many people assume that they are Irish. I kid you not.
Sorry, it's my prerogative. I've always had a soft spot for the Ammers. Especially the 80s and 90s. I like the tradition of ball players and the ambition of playing"proper" football, even if it's seldom achieved. I also love the Pony sponsored shirt from back in the day.
We do punch above our weight, I don't believe England are better than a world cup semi-final, you obviously do. #ThickScotsmanwumshimselfagain
The 3rd place play off is completely irrelevant, the first Belgium game was a **** up as we played the second team essentially and then we got knocked out. History will say we reached the semi final, not who we played on the way, which, considering the lack of any optimism whatsoever when we went into the tournament, is a success. I'm under no illusions that we remain anything other than average at best, which the rest of my post stated but you chose to miss that out of the quote.
