Having lived in Scotland since 1969, I have to report the bitterness dressed up as good-natured banter has diminished somewhat this year, with some of my Jockanese friends actually wishing England well. My neighbour even put a bet on them, though this may have been to temper the hurt from the possibility that they might actually win. A few World Cups ago, Jock commentators - journalistic, not football - started suggesting Scotland should stop measuring its own worth against English failure and grow up a bit. There are still pockets of resistance, which is fine. Personally, I had no intention of cheering for Andy Murray and it was ABM round our way, where the locals and media would enthusiastically predict, "He's goannae win it" as soon as he was through the first round, while not loudly pointing out he had an easy route to a semi because he avoided Federer, Nadal or Djokovic. Surely it's time to replay that Gemmill goal from 1978 in that match Holland had to lose by one goal to avoid Brazil and get an easy route to the final.
Perfect irony, as is your belief that you are somewhat intellectual, as you are a bit of a moron, and that is also causing me wry amusement.
You are probably right ... it seems impossible that Scottish teams could ever again compete with the English ... best leave it there as you ladies are obviously getting your gingham skirts in a tangle
Actually I think you'll find it's the English commentators who are far worse when it comes to the great "British " hope Andy Murray. They were praying for decades for a decent English tennis player to come along and it never happened. I mean Tim Henman ffs. He won **** all and they still named a hill at Wimbledon after him. Then there was that Canadian fella who said he was English so he could get all the adulation that comes with it. Unfortunately he won **** all as well
Who ever said you were a gormless unfunny twat was 100% correct. You are that thick you think if Celtic went into the EPL they would still be in receipt of the same income they get in the SPFL and would never be able to compete with English clubs. That has taken Big Earn's "punching above our weight" stupidest post of the thread award. So well done you. You are dumber than Earn
So easy to win the EPL buddy ... ask Spurs and Liverpool ... but Celtic would win it in season one ... well done you ... you are thicker than what Ern flushes away when severely constipated... if marginally less fragrant
Because we are bigger and with the income they get we would be better. I say 5 years but 3 would probably do.
Hmmm you are struggling here aren't you. I didn't say Celtic would win it in season one. I didn't say Celtic would win it at all. Hope this helps.
Listen. As someone who lives in North America, it grants me a massive view to non-football fans familiarity with players and brands etc. Celtic are not bigger or more recognized than Arsenal and def not Liverpool. They are more known that Tottenham though.
Celtic FC is an actual cultural reference. Even in America. An American who is a sports fan at all recognizes the kit at brand.
Not Rangers ....please stop my side's are splitting ... even if Tonto turned out to be Neymar's long lost cousin and signed the whole extended family over to Slippy G's I'll conceived tartan tour bus, there is still no way that Rangers would be anything more than relegation fodder in the EPL.. get a grip Kemo Saddle ..
