Thank the lord we have signed Davide Santon, but I feel a little sorry for Raylor. I feel we should drop Simpson and give him a chance at right back now. On Saturday Simpson was our worst player Obertan did well to cover him. Any thoughts?

I think you've answered your own question in your mind. If you think Raylor has been better than Simmo then you'd definatly play him at RB. Personally i've only managed to watch the Arsenal game so far this season so i cant make that call

I agree, people say simmo is a better defender but im not so sure he is to be honest...

Also simmo cant cross at all, and ryan taylor is one of the best free kick takers and crossers of the ball in the permier league, id have raylor first choice right back any day

Santon might be a bot nervous at first we dont know, we might stick with raylor and simpson for a little while until he feels settled

Take out the goals and Raylor hasnt been anything special. I'm not too bothered who plays at RB, I'll leave that to Pardew, but for me, Santon starts.

Santon has to start, Raylor imo offers so much more to the team currently not saying Simpson is bad might make him better knowing Raylor is snapping at his feet.

Yes. Simmo is infinitely better than Ryan Taylor. Raylor brings nothing to the side other than a woefully inconsistent setpiece ability.

Assuming we get a striker tomorrow and an injury free international break, against QPR I'd play

    ---------------Krul
    Simpson-S.Taylor-Coloccini-Santon
    ---------Tiote----Cabaye
    Obertan----Marveaux-----Jonas
    -----------Ba/New ST

Subs: Elliot, R.Taylor, Ferguson, Guthrie, Sammyobi, Ba/New ST, Best

I must admit, I got a little bit of fear building up every time Duff got the ball on the right, because he was so much quicker than Raylor. Not sure what Padew will do though, we will see. Simmo must be doing something right if we've only conceded 1 goal so far (though it WAS him who gave away the free kick.)

Simmo cant cross get frightened when near the other teams box, average in defence this season.

Could always play Raylor on the right wing?

Not enough pace and more than enough cover there

I don't think Simmo's head is in the right place at the moment. He seems very distracted, but who can blame him when his baby is still in hospital.

If we dont play Raylor in midfield there's not much splitting them IMO. Whoever's best in training between now and QPR game starts, simple as that.

    This.

So far this season Raylor has been the better player, but on last seasons form, Simpson is the much better player at right-back.

I would keep Raylor as a back up - never confident with him defending

Simpson - average defensively, woeful going foward

Raylor - average defensively, decent going forward, good FK ability

    No brainer <ok>
