Just following up my earlier post, not that i think it will happen. Would be smart signing IMO, Owen adds a lot of experience that can be passed on to his strike partners.

QPR boss Neil Warnock will attempt to persuade Sir Alex Ferguson to loan the West London club Michael Owen.on a season long loan deal. The Loftus Road boss is keen to beef up his attacking options and hopes that the great form shown by youngster Danny Welbeck will convince the Old Trafford boss to allow the former England man to move in order to get some match needed first team action.
The 31 year old striker is way down the pecking order at Man United with Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, the aforementioned Welbeck and Dimitar Berbatov all ahead in the queue so the chance to get some competitive action may appeal to the former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle United man.
Though the injury prone star is currently sidelined he is set to return from a suspected back problem soon and Warnock will offer to pay the striker’s full wage packet thanks to the new investment brought to the club by chairman Tony Fernandes.
QPR managed to bring in Joey Barton to help add quality to the club’s midfield and will now look to do likewise in the attacking third. The newly promoted club has managed just one goal in four games this season, including firing a blank at home to Rochdale in Carling Cup action, and could well do with new striking options.
Whilst Owen has sat out a lot of football over the past few seasons, when called upon he has proved a regular goalscorer, netting 14 goals in 48 appearances, of which 33 were coming on from the bench.
Warnock will feel that the addition of an experienced player like Michael Owen.they will stand a far better chance of retaining their Premier League status.

I'm sure he said in his column, that Fergie wouldn't loan him any players.

    Owen

What a gamble ... a gamble of Hulse proportions.

If we are prepared to take a gamble like that then I suggest we should re-sign Leon Clarke just in case he becomes good one day.

Agreed - we've got Dyer as our risk player - we don't want to become a footballer's convalescence home
