Bamba was great for us when he first joined then he looked awful, some say because he was asked to press forward, Warnock takes him and plays him to his strengths, doesn't ask him to do anything else and he looked a star for you. Maybe Vieira has looked average for us recently due to TC and PH. On social media some Leeds fans are saying that they hope it is laughed off and that he is worth at least double that amount. At only 19 I think its a fair price if we invest the cash and insert sell ons otherwise I'd keep him for what he might be worth in the future. I do however find it strange that Warnock would be looking to buy players for the future, Vieira has surely got to be 3-4 seasons away from being a PL player if he reaches his potential and if Warnock lasts that long it would be a miracle.
The "one for the future" syndrome is what cost Malky his job here last time we got up to the Prem. Strangely enough it was around the same figure he paid for Cornelius from FC Copenhagen and Tan went ballistic when Malky signed him on a 3 year deal at £45K a week - for a bloody unproven 19 year old. I doubt Warnock would go down that road - far too canny for that. I think this story probably has legs, but not at that figure and certainly not on that wage level.
Played in the England world cup U20 team. This boy is going to be a serious player and IF Radz sells him that cheaply now, then Radz is a **** of the highest order and is definitely here to rip the **** out of the club. Forget 'one for the future', 8 million is pocket money for the premiership. I know I've only seen him on TV but this boy is going to be a player. Would be the biggest disappointment since selling Cook.
The now infamous Malky comment of "one for the future" was more in the context of the budget he'd been given and what he needed to do with it to keep us in the Premier last time. Nothing wrong with the principle of buying for the future, the point was that he should have spent the money to keep us up that season not worry about 3/4 years time - that's why Tan went off the Richter scale. Same applies here to a point. Nice to be able to spend unlimited amounts of money on players right now, but Warnock has been funded by Tan to keep us up - that's his task. If Viera did that then fine, but it would be a big step up and maybe the dosh could be better spent for the "now" factor, not future.
