Those people ridiculing anyone who thought that Rashford and RLC would be better than Alli and Sterling need to watch this half...
Yep, England don't deserve to lose by 2 goals certainly, I don't care much for what ifs but RLC instead of Alli would've made us more effective going forward in this tournament IMO.
I don’t think anybody was ridiculing the idea. I would definitely have had RLC in ahead if Alli about three games ago.
If both of them had played, I am confident we would have played more football and spent less time chasing after it...
That is my one criticism of Gareth, he has selected on reputation rather than form with a couple of players.
Totally. I understand why people are defensive of Sterling. They feel he has been persecuted by the press at times. However, I only care about football, and Sterling has not added any cohesion to this team, any goal threat, and any final product. Alli's selection has been far worse - as he doesn't even run about!
Loftus-Cheek man of the match. Hope he doesnt rot on the Chelsea bench. We should make a 35m bid. England much better second half without Sterling. Rashford not a good enough replacement though unfortunately.
How Jones and Rose got picked ahead of Tarkowski and Bertrand is mind blowing. Belgium had more quality but England played well second half though they didn't have a cutting edge.
I was supportive of him right up to the WC and even throughout most of it. Because of his pace, and his Man City performances. If we had a decent playmaker, then Sterling wouldn't have to try and do everything himself. He could just focus on his runs etc. But against a decent team he is just a liability because he loses possession so often.
Maybe...Belgium are good? But I dunno, I didn't watch. Hopefully that's the last ever 3rd place play off.
