    Very good but this is better.........

    Quarter Final line up....

    France = 6 letters
    V
    Uruguay = 7 letters
    = 13 letters.

    Brazil = 6 letters
    V
    Belgium = 7 letters

    = 13 letters.

    Sweden = 6 letters
    V
    England = 7 letters

    = 13 letters.

    Russia = 6 letters
    V
    Croatia = 7 letters

    = 13 letters.

    Semi Final line up so far...

    France = 6 letters
    V
    Belgium = 7 letters

    = 13 letters

    If England beat Sweden then put money on Russia beating Croatia to make it 6 letters V 7 letters again = 13.

    France V Belgium semi final will happen before the our potential semi final. France will win meaning England will beat Russia in the semi to make the final 6 letters V 7 letters again = 13.

    So France (6 letters) V England (7 letters) final is my prediction.
    6+7 = 13.

    Each fixture above is a clue to who will win the final.
    Do you want to know who will win the world cup?
    Well each quarter final gives it away.
    The semi final line up so far gives it away.
    And my predictions to continue the 6V7 letters trend gives it away.

    The 6V7 letters = 13 is the clue.

    What makes 13 letters?

    01 I
    02 T
    03 S

    04 C
    05 O
    06 M
    07 I
    08 N
    09 G

    10 H
    11 O
    12 M
    13 E

    So the winner is us :)

    Despite our loss I think we have the future to look forward to and I think Southgate should be commended for his management. Well done lads and hold your collective heads high.

    ***BREAKING NEWS***

    FIFA officials have noticed that Croatia used a player that was yellow carded two games ago. He should have missed the last two games.

    FIFA officials could disqualify Croatia from the World Cup, meaning England could potentially still be on their way to the final!

    This news is official and can be checked on the BBC website. It was brought to the attention of the chairman of FIFA only 25 minutes ago.

    Carlsberg don't do statuses, but if they did, this would be the best status of the World Cup 2018!

    Due to circumstances I've seen more of this World Cup than the last 4 or more tournaments.

    Overall I've enjoyed it very much, although I never once thought it was 'coming home' even when we went ahead against Croatia.

    I like the way Southgate has handled things and the players seem largely to be level headed and down to earth. A far cry from the Beckham Circus of a few years ago which can now be erased from history.

    I hope FIFA either sort out VAR or discard it, as it's been a joke and lottery at times, and while they're there, I wish they'd do something about all of the South American cheats and play actors we've had to endure. A few sendings off for simulation and banning countries who repeatedly offend would soon put a stop to it.

    I think the World Cup has been very good overall, including VAR....and there is no doubt that it will be here in the Premiership in 2019-20 season.
    Southgate and the squad have conducted themselves superbly and we nearly got to the final and attempted to bring it home.
    I agree, that the antics of some players (Naymar & co ) did somewhat tarnish what was such a great tournament.
    Now, no sour grapes towards Croatia, but I believe, their equaliser , should have been ruled out for a high foot....was my thought at the time and I've not changed my mind. Up until then I thought we had full control of the game and I also believe we would have seen the rest of the second half out.......Cheated out of the final!
    But if we took all of the 120 mins, Croatia edged it, which is one thing i think we lacked "edge"...Kane & Deli Ali both had poor games by their standard and should have come off..
    But hey ho, we should learn and move on...at least we competed in a major competition!!

    Agree with most 1For.
    Think the problem with their first goal was down to Walker not attacking the ball, typical of a defender who's better going forward than doing his first job - defending.
    I know it's a bit harsh but I also think their 2nd goal was down again to a defender, Stones, happier playing the ball rather than doing his first job - defending.

    I thought if Walker would have gone in anymore he would have lost his head!! That was my vision of it....but it's done now and I'm sure I would be defending us if it was the other way around!
    After watching the game for 3rd place, I believe we are close to doing something quite special, we just lack that strikers edge, A Lineker, Defoe or maybe a Kevin Phillips, who really does know where the net is.....For me, I've never been a huge fan of Kane and I'm not saying he's a bad player....But just not as great as many people think!

    Yesterday showed, I think, that England really lack a quality, commanding, midfield player, one who can put a stamp on the game and take it by the scruff of the neck!
    Southgate has done really well with the talent at his disposal but all the great teams have had that general who can make all the difference!

    Bloody hell 1For you've said something about Kane that I've not had the balls to say, he's a good player but the hyperbole that goes with him - world class etc, is to my mind, not yet deserved.
    After the Croatia game Gary Neville said he must be carrying an injury, time will tell if he's truly world class.

    Great World Cup, after everyone’s critism of Russia holding the tournament I think they done it proud.
    A great final after seeing dull defensive finals for the past few times good to see two teams go at each other.

    Some will complain and dispute what I said but to me it’s been a great tournament.

    A great tournament by and large in terms of entertainment, and though France were as worthy winners as anyone they perhaps weren't as deserving as most past winners, the majority of which truly rose above the rest. I think that though some of the big guns weren't firing, credit should be given to the smaller nations who have closed the gap.

    Some will bemoan VARs influence but I think it's ultimately come out in credit. Where there has been controversy it's come from the referee's final say, particularly in regards to handball decisions where I think the laws need reviewing and clarifying.

    Regarding England, despite the disappointment of losing to Croatia & the sense of a missed opportunity, there are many plus points, including a more technical style of play. I do think a favourable draw did help us reach the semis - for instance, I think the 2002 team was better but had the misfortune of playing a particularly excellent Brazil side in the quarters.

    However, between a young side performing admirably & youth side World champions to come of age, I do think there's reason to be optimistic for the future. Qatar 2020 could be a bit unusual being a winter World Cup & the first in the middle East, but you'd like to think we might have a more realistic chance of going all the way.

    Agree. It's one thing scoring a few against poor opposition, but when it came to the crunch we were badly lacking a true finisher.
    The likes of Defoe and Phillips wouldn't have been any good at this level.
