Depends. A lot of it at City wasn't through choice a number of managers didn't rate him, even I didn't at one point.

He was on very little at City at one point so imagine he probably is now trying to make the most of is short career money wise.

All depends on your goals in life... To play as many matches as you can with not necessarily much to show for it or make as much money as you can for your family.

 

Or he'll be content that he has set himself and his family up for a comfy life and can actually spend most his time with them rather then working 40+ hrs a week untill his mid/late 60s

Pre-season is a fitness and blending the team together period, results mean very little and losses are not taken seriously and don't damage confidence.
