There is a plaque outside that reads "here is the resting place of one of the best team managers buried at sea... well it's not really a sea... then again he wasn't a good manager. "
Like it or not . Mclaren will never really recover from Ron’s golden years . The same goes for Williams , it started when Sir Patrick went imho .
Really? https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....ire-boullier-hits-back-freddogate-reports?amp What is going on at mclaren? I didn't realise it was that bad
Let's be honest, McLaren are going to struggle. The Honda years were tough for them both and a blame culture certainly entered into it. McLaren have taken a wrong turn, gave up Mercedes for Renault if you ignore the Honda years. A proud team but hard to see which way they turn now. That sense of fun that presides at Red Bull does not exist at McLaren. Daniel, please don't consider a move there. Really hope the team can prove mine and others fears are wrong but suspect the engine manufacturer change was seen as a panacea which it clearly isn't and this is just the start of a journey to reinvent. Another 3 years to reinvent I suspect.
I've said this before, but I do worry about McLaren. I don't see a way back for the to the front. F1 is about money, and McLaren have shot themselves in the foot a couple of times recently and now I think they are too far behind to chance up. They haven't had a major sponsor for quite a while now, the last that I heard is that they won't sell themselves cheaply. Well I'm sorry but you're not a top team anymore and you shouldn't expect top money. Added to the Honda disaster, and now having to pay for engine, you've got to start think where they are going to get the money from. I know they have very rich backers, but how much will they need to get back to the front? The staff obviously aren't happy which means that if it's not sorted out quickly, anyone with talent will be looking elsewhere. And lastly the management are starting to become a bit of a joke, which will make getting staff harder and harder. Someone needs to get hold of McLaren and sort it out from top to bottom, but even then it might be too late.
Time for them to pack-up and invest elsewhere, they have had their time in the sun. As have Williams.
The only way back is to sell to a manufacturer. McLaren could become one, but they would need to sort out their current management, it really doesn't sound like the staff are happy at the moment.
Expect lots of old stories in the realms of F1 media this week. Max and Lewis gave an expert display of avoiding baiting in the conference https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/french-gp-post-race-press-conference-1047456/
Whilst his team mate or in total? I'm assuming whilst team mate as with the likes of Alonso Rosberg and Button they much be getting on for Schumachers total.
I may be thick , but not sure what you are getting at . If it's that Senna didn't want a Real competitive team mate , then yes , much as I admired him , you make a very valid point ( Apart from Prost ) . He is not alone in that however .
I read this earlier today and found it very rude and offensive to the williams team and to Claire Williams. Why doesn't he put up or shut up. Start his own team and show us what everyone else is doing wrong.
