Fantastic effort from both of them and Jack is still only 16!, two years younger than his opponent. Brilliant entertainment too.
He's already broken Isner twice before in this match, to give him a serve for the set, and immediately been broken back.
They usually like a good 40 minute break after a long match, so Nadal-Novak might be waiting a little longer. Either way, given the time and the light (and the threat of rain), surely the roof will be closed for the entire match?
What a lovely bloke Kevin Anderson is. After the greatest win in his career, into a Grand Slam final for the first time, his first thoughts in the post match interview were for his opponent.
Once the roof has been closed though for a match, it has to be finished under the roof (as far as I am aware). So even if they have to come back tomorrow to finish it, it should be that they come back under the roof. Even if it's bright sunshine tomorrow morning.
I don’t think that can be true. Otherwise, the reverse would have to be true, which makes no sense at all. If the roof is open and it starts raining, they close the roof and carry on. If the match carries over to the next day, the roof can be open or shut depending on the weather.
