Jock forgot to add The English are not as gullible as the Scots no wonder you have had so many problems with us in the past.
Not so sure about that. Haven't you heard of the book called "Gullible's Travels"? It's about Glory going to Russia.........
The problems I told you about were ethnic cleansing & not worthy of cheap quips. It was the english that were gullible enough to think time would make us forget. Don't underestimate the resolve of the Scots. Remember, we've had the only terrorist organisation that fully achieved it's target. And no-one was killed or injured. More history they don't teach in english schools. You would have been alive during it. Wonder if it was ever reported on in england?
Whilst I would not dream of trying to teach a Scot about Scottish history I would respectfully suggest you fully look at the people behind all the clearances not just selective English instigated ones. In otherwords look at your own before blaming everything on the English. My impression of the Scots. If earlier in their history they had not been too busy stabbing each other in the back they would have been a truly great nation. The object of my post had nothing to do with the Highland clearances but more to do with gullibility. Which I believe has been proven, to my satisfaction.
Well they forgot to tell you about Culloden moor in your History.Where an army made up from a few clans,Irish,French, and Mancunians were beaten by an army also containing many scots who didn't want to be controled by Highlanders and French,The losers were treated bad for many years, mainly by their fellow scots.who supported the Duke of Cumberlands army.
Only shame is they didn’t wipe the nationalist cnuts out. Still now we have had the oil we should have an Indy ref for England and jettison the sponging cnuts and get the cattle trucks rolling as part of forced repatriation. The 6p in the pound tax we would all save would come in handy.
I have no idea what you are talking about. And get the impression you don't either. You seem to like talking about inaccurate and unfounded nonsense, in the hope of upsetting me. OK, let's play your game, then. Let's imagine what a ***** would do to your grandchildren. Crossing the line? Yes. Upset you? I would hope so. Will I continue? Normally wouldn't dream of it, but sometimes you have to up the ante to make the other party realise that his idea of banter is far, far from banter. If you had to repeat some of your uneducated nonsense in a Glasgow pub, your best hope would be intensive care. That is not a joke. I have been seriously threatened with a stabbing for simply being happy to use the term 'Jock'. You really don't know what you're getting in to. I would advise you to cease & desist as an apology seems below you.
If my memory serves me correctly, and I know it does, it was you who started with all the historical jargon, which in turn proves the point that the Scots can never ever move on. Me go into a Glasgow pub you must be jocking, been once and that was enough to last a lifetime. I won't insult you by saying why. P.S Sorry if I spoiled your your original thread, but could not resist.
No idea why you want to discuss Scottish history. But first, read this before you continue to embarrass yourself. https://www.historyextra.com/period/georgian/7-myths-about-the-battle-of-culloden-busted/ Remember, reading it means the whole article, not the bits you can quote out of context. Btw, the Scots you mention were part of the British Army, just as Irish soldiers served in the British Army during the recent troubles. Not sure why you would find it strange for a Brit to fight in his British army.
Of coarse the scots fought with the English army, just the same as the scots on the other side fought with the French army as did the Irish.I didn't want to talk scotland history, but feel I need to correct some of the twisted interpretation you are throwing out. Charles Stewart an Italian, who with the French army,Irish and some Scotish highlanders invaded England, they were chased back to scotland where an army containing thousands of scots mainly lowlanders beat them in battle and took revenge on the French supporting traitors as happens in war. ps it's just as much English history, after all you invaded England.
