    If Bielsa wanted him for competition to BPF fine but I’m left bewildered by the possible signing. He lost his place at Sheffield U a few times last season, he is 24 and needs more experience. Me personally, I’d question is he better than BPF, I was all for the experience of Stockdale on loan or the brilliance of Gunn on loan but Blackman offers no superior experience and no superior skill over BPF

    You can’t tell me he is going to get better by keeping the Leeds bench warm compared to remaining at Chelsea and their coaching set up so have we had to make any promise of first team action?

    Of all the possible deals mentioned this is alongside the Jerry one for me in not caring if it falls through.

    Our entire squad will improve by:

    A) The u23 players that will be joining the first team

    B) The Summer cull

    C) Better coaching and tactics

    D) Fitter players

    E) Sensible signings

    All other squads with the exception of Millwalls will improve more. The gap between challengers and us as also rans is going to be wider than last year as things stand...

    I thought BPF looked excellent when he came in, so tough one. But I'd say a safer bet over the season. Deffo the best keeper we have signed (I know, I know, loaned) in a long time IMO. A big old unit who wont take any crap off the back line. Hope he gets on well with Pontus <laugh>

    I read that Blackman actually signed and had a medical when he was up the other week. It all hinged on the Chelsea manager situation, which I believe has now been resolved.
