With James the snail being injured ( hopefully long term ) I think we should stick Koren in the middle and say your the captain old cock, Or possibly Gerrard. Dawson is a liability shame we didn't get a new LB in the window.

I have to agree for once with Burnsy and Swanny that Dawson is not a captain do you often see him being vocal or leading the team necessarily. Gerrard is a leader but i think he is trying to impress Cardiff in case they do not go up, i think he has the leadership qualities needed but do we go with Koren who is a long term part of our plans..... I would go with the latter choice personally.

Yes but that's all part of the cunning plan, It will make him become the leader he is capable of being.

For me it's either Gerrard, Harps or Koren. Seeiing how Harps may well be out a fairly long time, and Gerrard's not our player, it's got to be our Bob, he's the only remaining candidate. Although I don't think he's any more vocal than Daws, in fact probbly less, but he's got experience as a world cup Captain and Robert always voices his opinion to the ref when he's got something to say, but he just doesn't boss his team about. If he commands respect in the dressing room and can lead by example (throwing tantrums etc) then why not? But I'd rather give it to Harps so long as he's not out long.

I can't see us making a loan player captain(though Gerrard is the obvious choice), so I'll go for Koren, who should be moved into the middle to aid with his captaining duties.

100% agree Robert Koren for cpatain and put him in the middle of the park and we will be a different side, he is on his day better than Bullard in the middle of the park and the added responsiblity of cpt will make him work hard for 90minutes.

    RoKo please :)

I think the last 2 games have actually probably being Dawsons best of the season. I'm not saying it has anything to do with him being captain as like others I don't think long term he is the right choice for captain, but I just can't see anyone else getting it this season. There are no real obvious candidates and it would be really harsh on Daws to take it off him and give it to either a loan player or someone less obvious like Koren.

If we were to sign Gerrard on a perm then it would be him for me, but as he's just a loan atm, i'd say stick Koren in the middle and give it to him. Koren captains his country,so i think he'd be more than capable of captaining city.

already started a thread bout this Dawson is no captain, for me Gerrard or Harper look like leaders on the pitch. I wouldn't mind Koren either, he did it for West Brom did't he?, but anyone would be an improvement

Well, Koren does do it for his national team. I'll be dead before I start calling him RoKo though. Goodness.

i agree with most posters koren into the middle with the arm band,he has the experience and would not have been chosen by his national side without reason.
at the end of the season when we know for certain who is staying and who is not and who will be comming in,well then the situation can be re-assesed.
i am personally of the opinion that we need to bring someone in for dawson and let him go,but then i have never rated him so maybe i am a little bias

An international captain playing centre midfield for his country should be our captain, playing centre midfield. Not a player, although a natural leader, who wants to return to his permanent club.

I agree with premiertiger. It would be harsh to take it away from Dawson atm, and I think we need some stability given the huge changes that have occurred recently with all the new players and Ash leaving. Daws was vice captain before so he is a good interim choice until things bed down.

Longer term I would say Harper, as Gerrard is too prone to get himself in trouble with the officials.

not koren for me...great player but his workrate at times is non existent, cant have a captain telling us others what to do, while not grafting himself.
