Hughes reckons we are very close to having the team he wants....presumably after the signing of Jannick.

 

And another goalscoring striker too!

 

Basically just spending the VVD money. Hardly splashing the cash Daily Echo. Would still like another attacking player in.

 

Need a few to leave as well so you would think that with the VVD money plus whatever we sell this window there is a high chance we are in profit or at worst break even.

Saw over on Sainstweb that we currently have 30 players that would have to be registered in the 25 man PL squad, so you would assume that at least 5 would be leaving permanently or on loan.

 

I would go a step further. I would like another two attacking players in. I think getting one in is pretty essential.

We're not really any further on from last season from an attacking position - if anything, having lost Carrillo, we've taken a step back to first half of last season, when everyone was (rightly) crying out for another attacker or two. And whilst it came far too late, and was ultimately a disaster, the board presumably agreed somewhat because they sanctioned £20m on a new striker. Ultimately, two years on, still no Mane or Pelle replacement.

I'm not wanting to be negative, because quite honestly the board have impressed me so far this summer. And I haven't said that for sometime. It might not have been a like-for-like replacement, but we acted on replacing Tadic immediately. Great news (assuming he turns out to be good enough). And overall, the guys coming through the door are pleasing me. But at the same time, I'm not going to forget about our offensive issues of the past two years.

 

I`m delighted that my fears that the new owner would be nothing other than an asset stripper have seemingly be proven unfounded. Good business being done early in the window. I feel like we have our mojo back, after last season`s close call. I can`t wait for the new season !

 

I feel we still need another winger once Boufal leaves and a CF then I'll be made up.

 

Ah, but maybe we have replaced Mane now with Mohammed and it’ll be two years for the Tadic replacement

 

We will sign one more attacker, then panic buy in January as we have the previous two seasons.

Harsh....Charlie scores regularly in the third of the season that he isn't injured or getting back into match fitness, Gabbi if he gets some correct service proved in his first season he can score goals and Shane...well, what can I say?

That will be cut down a fair bit in the coming weeks.
I think Forster, Clasie, Boufal, Mcqueen will be sold / loaned out along with Harry Reed. With possibility of Davis and 1 of the CB's also going, along with Gallagher. This will bring our squad down to around 21 players, leaving room for 2 new attacking players.

 

You are probably more ITK than the Echo though.

 

With 4 weeks to go until the window is closed surely we can't be finished with the ins, though we are having a stupendous window thus far! I hope Southampton are looking at bringing two more in for the front line.

 

Or it could just be that we have signed the players to properly serve the strikers we have.

 

I predict that Gabbi will have a big season coming up.

This. I'm by and large pleased with the business we have done thus far, but we simply cannot subtract Tadic/Boufal/Carrillo (insofar as the latter is a loss) and acquire just a single attacker.
