It's nice enough if you want a bit of Dover sole in your nans living room. Served by your uncle Geoff. I don't see them in direct competition for patrons.
It’s very sedate...and it hasn’t changed from last time you went! (Last time I went midweek we were literally the only couple in!) I was merely pointing out that seafood isn’t exactly ‘cuisine that you struggle to find elsewhere’
Fair enough I was just saying that if you’d travel just for seafood you wouldn’t have to go very far between the two
I though Cerutti’s had a major refit a year or so back, have they just made it look like a different Nan’s house?
Aye yeah you're not wrong. Should have expanded on my point to include dining experience. Though sticking to the seafood theme, I've always thought there should be more options out there. Given our location and history.
Totally agree, and I was sat opposite the new place t’other day (having a beer at Ambiente) and said to Mrs Tash that it was good to have a seafood place down there I’ll be trying it
Not trying to go all Prick Stein here, but it is a shame that we aren't more seafood orientated on our island.
Barmy that we catch most of Europe's lobsters off the Holderness coast, yet restrict ourselves to Bessie and chips and the occasional patty.
Bridlington is the lobster capital of Europe. And the shellfish capital of the UK. Unfortunately 95% ends up in countries with more sophisticated pallets.
As you mention the young pretender Stein and we're on the subject of seafood I may as well indulge myself with a bit of one of my hero's. Enjoy.
