I asked myself earlier (in my head!) whether I'd rather we beat the scum or whether we got three points from the Brighton game on the Friday. Unhesitatingly I chose the scum game as the one I'd rather see Leeds win. I imagine the mad scenes post-match round Elland Road as we taunt the scum and the bragging in years to come about doing the double over them during our lower league spell. Is three points in the unimportant early season really more valuable than such a privilege? After all, it seems to be the teams who put a late spurt on in the League who carry all the momentum going into the final playoff push.

I ask myself if scum fans would want the same if they were in the same situation as us having spent years in the lower leagues and had been drawn in the cup against Premiership Champions Leeds. And I suppose some of them probably would. Many of them.

Is it our cup final? Does it make me a bad Leeds fan? Is this a small-club mentality? I don't really think any of those is true. It's been a bloody long time since we've had a proper rivalry and rivalry is part of the football fan's staple diet. I look forward to a tirade of opposing views!

Beating them again would be fantastic. There's still nearly 40 games in the league after the Brighton game, whereas there's only one game this season where we can beat them. It was a great feeling to be at Old Trafford after beating them, and it would be to it again. Although, I would be happy with a spirited performance, similar to Spurs away 2 seasons ago and Arsenal last season. I just hope we don't get embarassed and can come out of the game proud of our team.

Just because you want us to win more than the Brighton game, it doesn't make it our cup final. I mean the game against Bristol Rovers on the last day of the season was much better than Man Utd away.

Every thing about this post is why i hate the cups. This cup means nothing 3 points is 50% better then beating them

You still have not learned from last time have you? Look what happend when we beat them we blow a 10 point gap and only went up by 1 point because of this game.....

I urge all leeds fans to boycott this game, don't buy a ticket and watch the game at local pubs instead. We need to use this game as the main part of the protest. Bates needs to go and we need to use everything we can to get the message across the media. For 90 mins enjoyment you could soon be watching a league two club with a financial disaster of a hotel and shops because of the utterly bewildering business managment of mr ken bates. It's not worth it. Plans are already in place to ask the man utd fans to do likewise, so that the stadium has less than 7,000 in it.

We've already been in the lower leagues for 7 years and it's not looking like we'll leave them any time soon. I'd say that was a bit more than a spell.

We've also had the worst start for 14 years on the back of a poor run at the end of last season, and the squad is now much weaker.

Anyone who puts a cup result before 3 points, in a league where they are vital, should find a small club to support.
