May too early for recriminations but that was poor. Can't be arsed. To go through The Whole match but even the end ****ing about across the back. Why. Harsh reality. We played two decent teams. We lost to both.
****ing gutted. Great to get that far but what a **** way to go out. As with every game, when Sterling came off we were ****ing hopeless. I don't understand why he kept doing it. And what a **** pair of goals to concede, after once again getting in enough dangerous positions in the first half to score enough goals to win two games.
Now Hull can go back to being a rugby town. A shame all those getting so animated about football in .Hull over the past few weeks don't do so at City games.
Exactly I mean they are in...all over the ****ing place after all! Actually we could play at Wembley a fair bit couldn’t we?...coming home and all that
Worst bit about my boozer. For some reason a load of ******s came in in fc shirts. Why?? Just why. Stupid fat ****s.
Maybe because it is the only chance they will get to see everyone excited about a world cup. As opposed to tbe wave of apathy surrounding a RL World Cup.
I have to say it was a disappointing finish to their campaign. They should have had it sewn up in the first half, and I had the feeling those missed chances would come back to haunt us. Basically, we were the better team in the first half and they were the better team thereafter. Best team won, as Chaz said we lost to 2 teams better than us, Belgium and Croatia.
The Belgium game was little more than a friendly between reserve teams, it was an indicator of absolutely nothing.
For me personally I'd rather this result than us get done by France in the final. I've got French family and they'd have been insufferable...
ITV say the semi-final audience peaked at 26.6m viewers / 84% share last night. The average of 24.3m viewers was apparently the biggest ever football audience on a single channel.
Incredible feeling of disappointment, but we'd have taken that before the tournament started. Still I can't help but feel we threw it away. Instead of going all out for the killer second goal we reverted back to type and went all defensive and let them come at us and dominate. No need for recriminations but some of our so called 'stars' had shockers. Still the future is bright. I'm sure we can win the WC before I pop my clogs.
Fifa have opened disciplinary proceedings against the Football Association over chants of a "possible discriminatory" nature by England fans during their World Cup semi-final defeat by Croatia. The precise details of the allegations are unknown at this stage. "We can confirm that a report has been filed through the anti-discrimination monitoring system in relation to chants of a possible discriminatory nature by English fans," said a Fifa statement. "Subsequently, disciplinary proceedings have been opened against The Football Association."
It was amusing to read that FIFA, with its usual sense of priotities, had fined England and Sweden over £50,000 for some players wearing unauthorised socks. More than countries have been fined in the past for racist chanting and rioting, Though Argentina have been fined £80,000 for their fans racist and homophobic chanting, so they must consider that 50% worse.
The team was shown up for the embarrassment it is. England played reasonably well in the first half against Croatia, but it was clear that playing Kyle Walker as one of three centre-halves and relying on Ashley Young for defensive duties was a quite laughable decision, and the Croats exploited both in the second-half and in extra-time. Harry Kane is the only truly world-class player in the squad and he had an off-day, which I'd love to berate him for but at the end of the day it happens. My concern is the rest of the team. Sterling deserves nothing but contempt. Has there ever been a footballer whose remarkable knack for finding the perfect position is so at odds with his ability to actually kick a ball?
International teams represent nations, and in most sane nations - of which England/Britain is most clearly not one - there is another who is regarded as an enemy, a threat or a rival. If England fans sang a song about the Hammer of the Scots they would be charged with 'racism'. Racism is a meme designed to distract people from things that actually matter.
