Disappointed but I'm sure we've all loved the journey. One thing I've learned over the years is to switch off as soon as that final whistle blows. Life is too short to worry about the result of a football match... unless it is losing to the mackems of course.
Classic. Don't take your chances, get punished. Age old. Kane, rather than Sterling, killed the dream. But really it was a vastly superior Croatia team.
We lacked a Modric quality player. If only we could reincarnate a Gascoigne or a Beardsley. We would have won that game with one of those.
Nah, they had Rakitic, Brozovic and Mandzukic! We can't be so blinkered. This is a superb Croatia team and in an era without Ronaldo or Messi, we'd be against the best player in the world (Modric).
I thought the lad who scored their first changed the game, he even supplied the assist for the second.
Sorry, yes, Perisic - sought by Man City, bought by Inter Milan. And we thought a Man U sub could win it. It's a good idea, by Southgate, but lacks heavily the players to execute. Alli was the worst England player by a mile.
We were twenty-one minutes from the World Cup final. Really, Croatia should be thinking we let them off the hook.
Too many flicks by Alli for me, he needs to find space more often. I was amazed Lingard wasn't subbed, he looked knackered after 90 mins.
It's weird - we need Southgate's humility, Bobby's tactical nous and we do need some quality players apart from our number 9. Maybe next time. I said that if we had Modric, we'd have won. Easily.
I love Southgate, he must be allowed to continue as manager and improve the team. We've let a huge chance go tonight though, ffs Croatia lost to both Turkey and Iceland in WC qualifiers in the last twelve months.
Del Alli was one of our worst players in the tournament. I think Loftus-Cheek may have had more of an impact. Sterling has been shown to be not as good as people make out. Has pace, creates space for others but offers nothing else.
First half we were excellent, should have scored more. Second half we were the opposite, couldn't keep the ball, didn't create chances and looked knackered.
I'm 47 and devastated .. .last semi final I watched was world Cup 90 in kavos 18 years old with the lads. .. We lost and smashed the ****ing place up. .. Now I'm 47 I'm having a cup of tea and pickled onions but I still want to kick **** out of kane, Ali, sterling and any other **** who blows a world Cup semi final with twenty minutes to go... Good night.
