    For me.....

    A) talk of doing great etc is fine but reality has to set in at some point. It was a piss easy group, a last 16 where the opponent turned it into a fight not a game and a bang average at opponent. Tesm did fine, played to its potential and rode the breaks when they came.

    B) for me I said this pre world cup and will say again. 3 at back was pointless. The team was deeply unbalanced imo with two wingers playing off Kane and alli as a second striker. There was one too many cbs.

    C) pickford did well all banter put aside. Trippier did well. The rest imo were all muchnof a muchness. Of a level but not hitting the top levels.

England can be happy looking back but I don't feel this will somehow develop from here into a stellar side. There's a huge amount of work to be done to improve the quality and balance of that side.

For example we all assume England will piss through qualifying for euros. But at euros thry could struggle to get out of group.

    Only for #bantz

Now it's over its ok to say pickford did well.

It's also ok to say sterling and lingard were one reason England were ****e but equally worked hard and tried their best so help make the system such a as it was work.

Unfortunately both men must have missed 10 chances that were handy goals through the tournament.

Spot on. I can see this exact thing happen. Baring in mind that France should win the world cup and will get better, Belgium, Spain, Germany etc will all be there and play better. Euros will be much more challenging than this world cup.

Pickford comes out of this well, imo.
The midfield had too many creative players who weren't creating, Lingard was the best of the three.
It seems madness to me to have an accomplished goal-hanger like Kane coming deep and Sterling running beyond him when he can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

Interestingly fifa have fined England for a breach of rules due to 3 players wearing wrong socks. These covered Nike logos.

This fine is larger than the fine that Facebook got from eu over data breaches.

Figured that one out if you can

Yeah.... tbh they are all what I would call runners not creators.

English players are bred to run.

Best thing was when they started saying "England are a force again" after we lost <laugh>

We're a force because we beat Tunisia (in the last min), Panama, Colombia (on pens) and Sweden with 9 of the 12 goals via set pieces and lot against the only 2 decent teams we came up against.

Anyway, what are the odds on Lovren getting the goal that wins the World Cup? <laugh>

Tyldesley is an idiot. Every time there's an international he says something like "we all love club football, but these England games are what it's really all about!"
He really ought to get out of London and ask some football fans about that.

Made me laugh when a lot of the time they were saying "this is the biggest game in their careers".

Ask TAA or Henderson which was the bigger game and they'll both tell you the CL final was far bigger than a semi final of a WC

Tyldesley made his name off the back of LFC on Radio City(Liverpool), just like Richard Keys and others, but once they reach TV commentary status they forget why they're where they are, ****ing grates me when he utters superlatives about them up the Lancs when there's no need to.

dunno about that... both could be once in a lifetime but we do know for top players a world.cyp is once every 4 years and on your own continent once in 12 years.= once in career.

reality is none of this squad will likely be playing next time a world.cup is hosted in europe

Yeah - I remember him on Radio City, but I don't recall him being such a prick then.
Mind you, Motson bore the bulk of my disapprobation in those days. <whistle>

The reason he seemed not to be a prick then was he was our commentator, the blue ****e had Elton Welsby or whoever.
But when he/they left they signed the "we must praise man U at every opportunity" register.<whistle>

For me, it's the rubbish they come out with more than their allegiances. I watch several incidents in every game where their take on it is just plain wrong.
Hoddle was a good player and has had a string of high-profile management jobs, but he hardly seems to understand what he's watching at times.

Unless it's just me, of course. :)
