Yeah I'm not really sure what they have meant to have done that has pissed people off so much? Apart from win of course
I think 2 or 3 up is fair. We should have been 2 up because Kane should definitely have scored. We could easily have been 3 up because Lingard also had a good chance. But yeah, Croatia were the better side pretty much from that point on so no complaints from me.
No need for the pundit inquests (especially from players that never got as far), i'm switching off now..we lost and probably deserved to on the day. There will be lessons learnt but I think they left everything out there on the pitch.
Very disappointed but in the grand scheme of things not many in the country would have thought we'd get to the semis. Got a great chance at Euro 2020 and Qatar 2022 when this team has matured. Good luck to Croatia. What they've achieved with a country of their size is astounding.
Congratulations @SouthamptonFCroatia fully deserved. I feel we reverted to type in this game and you guys killed us. Please beat France
Ok, I'm over it. Well done Croatia, well done us, well done everyone. Euro 2020 is basically in England (the important bit anyway), so there's something.
So we've got to play Belgium again. I hope they manage to pick themselves up and win it. Meaningless I know but a good way to finish the tournament. They've done better than I thought they would and hopefully they believe they can go further next time.
Pogba will get another emoji if France win so I am rooting for them. His haircut with the trophy shaved into side of his head will also be bantz
Oh yes, and Gareth is everything that a modern manager should be in 2018. There's nothing secret or even complicated. He just manages well. I hope we see many more Gareths soon.
Ok one more thing. ITV, what on earth was that. Glenn Hoddle used to be England manager! Come on. Literally the opposite of Southgate. (Slaven is good, he can stay)
I have no idea if this is true but someone just told me that England only win 10% of their tournament games that are shown on ITV but win 60% of the games shown on the BBC. So it's all Ian Wright's fault.
I'm going to decide it's true cos I ****ing hate ITV at the best of times and their app dying on me when I was on my way to work hasn't helped that feeling.
I just want to give every one of those boys out there tonight a big hug and say “well done”. Most of the country, before the tournament started, would have bitten your hand off if you’d offered them a losing semifinal spot, and everyone’s expectations have been exceeded. This is a young side with a young manager who can go further still. They will be heartbroken for a while, like we all are, but they can use the experience gained in Russia as a foundation to become a truly great side. Well done lads, we’re all proud of you.
