Henderson and Lingard getting sloppy and constantly caught in possession........ France will be so relaxed playing either team.
Going as I thought it would. At some stage you need a decent ball playing/holding CM to take the sting out of the opposition.
The last three games has been strange for our substitutions. Southgate seems to think he needs to hold them back for when the opposition equalise and we have extra time.
1-1 FT. Awful 2nd half and Southgate is lucky to have the opportunity to change things. Still got three subs left, due to the additional one for extra-time. Needs to use two now.
And that's the problem: not only did England have a lack of those to pick for the World Cup, but they've generally had a lack of them for as long as I can remember. I've seen Winks talked up in previous matches, and while he certainly could have helped slow down the Tunisia and Panama games so England could have comfortably seen those matches out rather than have to keep going all-out, I'm less convinced he would have been able to against Colombia or Croatia.
Well, that was **** - out of sorts, out of ideas and out of puff. Needs some inspiration from somewhere but can't see any leaders on the pitch. But let's have faith...... Heaven knows why
