A part of me would like England to win for those reasons you list, then another part wouldn't as watching Harry Kane drooling all over the trophy would make me throw up a little and the biggest part doesn't want them to as my Spurs supporting mate will 100% not shut up about how "Spurs won the World Cup" probably for the rest of our lives. As I say though this year has confirmed to me my indifference to it as I'm sure there were lots of people before the tournament who were like "don't care about England" who now are getting really into it, which I don't blame them for. But if I can't muster any real enthusiasm for a young team with potential who has gone further than the team ever has in my lifetime (well I was 1 in 1990) then I don't think there is much hope for me in becoming an England fan
Assuming you'd get a few thousand people to watch a big screen in Southampton. It would probably need to be on the Common or at St Marys?
There is no outdoor screen here either, I think it all kicked off in one of the other tournaments recently so the council stopped doing them.
Hoglands Park (opposite me) is suprisingly big, went to a Rock against Racism concert there and there were quite a few there.
Work finished for the day. Well if you could call what I did today work. Here's hoping I do less work tomorrow due to a celebratory hangover
The crosses of St George are flying all around me... Gareth Southgate, the whole of England is with you.
Lol Mrs No7 has just returned from the shops with a waistcoat for me #WaistcoatWednesday It's coming home!
Was really worried about relying on the trains today to get me home on time for the match. Luckily the train ahead was delayed enough for me to get on and now I'm going to get home early The omens are good: it's coming home!
