Morning all. A bright and happy France today. Bruno at the garage will be a relieved man, and he is hoping I will be this evening. I will be doing my usual round of tasks along with preparations for rabbit minding. My granddaughters have two rabbits who will be taking up residence at chez OFH while the girls go away for three weeks of holiday. The rabbits are used to having an outside run during the daytime, but it is too large to transport, so it looks as if I will have to get materials and construct something quickly. I am working on a design that once they have gone can be used to stop butterflies getting at my cabbage plants.

I am getting too old for this tension. Don't think bed is an option for me at this point.

Morning all. A lovely morning in this part of the world, warm but not hot yet, a very light breeze and a clear blue sky. Off to Chateauroux to get some materials, and will partake of some lunch while I am there. Three courses, coffee and wine for two persons at the modest cost of €22 seems like a good deal. Enjoy your day whatever you plan to do. <ok>

Morning all, another hot day in store and lots to do. I might even have to keep going this afternoon rather than retire to the cool of the house for a few hours. :emoticon-0107-sweat

Morning all, it is rather overcast at present, meaning that it is somewhat cooler. The sun is breaking through and the temperature is expected to reach 32°C this afternoon. Today is la féte nationale and as usual there will be plenty of events going on around the country. Feasts and fireworks all over the place, but also concerts and sporting events. There is always an attempt by a French rider to try and win the stage of the Tour de France on the 14th July.
Yet many things have changed in the decade or so that I have lived here. The baker would be open and also the florist, but that was just about all of the shops. Today all of the large supermarkets are open, as are the DIY stores and nearly all of the chains. Many bakers have disappeared from the towns as they cannot compete with the supermarkets, which is a shame as their bread and pastries are normally better, if more expensive.

We have had no rain since May here. I don't know what it is about the British weather - all or nothing.
Still it is our Ruby Wedding Anniversary next weekend (never thought we would reach that) and we are going away for a few days so it is bound to rain then :)

The rains have moved on, for now.

It is lovely here, just going to make some hamburgers from scratch and get the BBQ going in the afternoon with them plus arrachera, chorizo, alitas, nopales, spring onions and pineapple. (Yep, it works on the BBQ trust me)

    Love it when Saturday arrives.

    ¡¡Have a good one all!!
