Here’s hoping. I find it hugely suspicious that Freedor has promised a debate about the club later today. The very same day Kenedy signs up. I’m convinced he actually IS Charnley.
It's the timing. He even said something about how we'd bow to the greatness of Lee/Mike once he "pulled a Kenedy shaped rabbit out of a hat". It's the kind of banal statement a dork like Charnley would use. And his punctuation/grammar is often spot on.....
Graeme BaileyVerified account@GraemeBailey 11h11 hours ago Chelsea have agreed to a season-long loan of Kenedy to Newcastle - who impressed last term at St James' Park. He might not be the last Chelsea player to make the move to Tyneside...
Brilliant that Mike has taken a massive dump on all the negative Nancy’s by bringing Kenedy home. Stunning signing by the big fella. Rafa must be loving it. Plus we still have our budget in tact. If we can ship a few of the unwanted we could be in good shape. This Kenedy deal will still have been expensive though.
Does anyone know how much the loan fee is? Two seasons on loan will not have been cheap! (Cheaper than buying though, obviously)
Medical completed but it is understood that there is no option to buy at the end of the season...if that is true then WTAF? Over the moon to have him back but if there really is no option to buy then that just seems bizarre. He clearly likes it up here, the fans have taken to him and he fitted in well pretty much straight away with the squad we had. His value is just going to shoot up if he has a stormer for us next season and Chelski will be wanting £30m+ for him, although he does only have a year left on his contract at the end of this season so that might be a factor in things. Unless they tie him down to a new 5 year contract or something during the course of this season if he's performing? I hope my ramblings are a waste of time and that there is an option.
Like the idea that they may have to sell him "cheap" as he will only have a year left. Hopefully he performs and we get to keep him
Maybe Chelsea don’t see the value in selling now or agreeing a fee. If he has another cracking spell he will either be worth a **** load or they can use him. It’s whats wrong with loan system, they can just treat clubs like us as feeders.
In which case it's an excellent piece of business. Get the player and defer a major expenditure until next year/season In the meantime we can utilise the funds where needed more acutely Genuinely can't understand why people are pissing and moaning about the loan deal - it's not ****ing FIFA or Football Manager - it's a real life business
It's clever business. It means that should Kenedy have an amazing season then another club can't snatch him off us. Plus, the price will be agreed already. Stops Chelsea from trying to profit from a good season for the player.
And by using the loan system we let them use us. One of my many points about the loan system being in serious need of scrapping and how football clubs persist in shooting themselves in the foot given half a chance.
We don’t have a choice. If we want that type of quality we have to accept it. It’s for the PL to sort out. The smaller clubs will always be a slave to this system. It’s very easy to criticise the club but people have to ask themselves, would they rather go down out of principle?
