Reds in Maguire Race Liverpool are third-favourites to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester this summer. The commanding defender has been in fine form for England in the World Cup and scored during the 2-0 win over Sweden last weekend. I agree. He was awful in the first two, possibly three, games. Granted he's been good in the last two but it's a no from me. How many times have we said don't judge players on their WC performances - it's a false picture of their true ability. Even if you look at it from the other side - has Messi ever played well in the WC? All our best players are out of the WC with barely a good performance between them and the two who get the most stick are close to the final, with one of them definitely going to be in it
