Imagine the day the takeover actually happens. The “ITK willy waving” will be reminiscent of Selfridges when the doors open on Black Friday.
He is still on the Charlton payroll- which is quite remarkable given the state of the club at the moment !
It's happening in the next 3 to 4 weeks or not at all. I was getting very pessimistic about it, to the point of being resigned to the whole thing being as good as dead. But I'm keeping faith with Bexleyboy on this. There is still a chance for change - rather than yet another season of of the same old same old, with months or years more of rumours about buyers, negotiations, fans being conned by Murray into not rocking the boat...
It’s so tedious. Were it not for the fact that it’s slowly killing our club, it would have sent all but an odd few to sleep long ago Football should be about players, managers , teams, going to games ?
Sunderland away, only 26 days to wait Then Shrewsbury at the Valley Straight in at the deep end in 2018-19, none of this mucking about playing strugglers and minnows for three months. Can't wait...
The trouble is @lardiman I have listened to all the supposed ITK people and apart from NLA and Dave Smith they have all been wrong. Not once but many times. I am afraid that I don't trust these people anymore. You say it is happening in the next 3 or 4 weeks or not at all. I and many other Charlton fans have had our expectations raised to be dashed. This Takeover has been going on for a year. Murray told us that he expected it to be completed by the end of February, over four months ago. I don't know where you got your information from lardi but I will treat it with a large dose of Sodium Chloride.
Yes, under this owner we are a Club with less ambition than a concussed Koala. But under the new Aussie Consortium Charlton will become a prize-fighting King kangaroo, a bone crunching mean-eyed Tazmanian Devil, a really scary great big crocodile of a team. We'll get our pride and our fans back, and then it's onwards to glory Cobbers!
We’ve also been linked today with a free transfer for Ched Evans, which is tiresome if only because it starts that debate up again. Basically we are shopping in the bargain basket - and the Lidl’s bargain basket at that. It really is stretching credulity to imagine an ambitious and well funded new owner is sanctioning such dross targets as a 32 year old Bury cast off.
I'm not ITK. The background information is out there, I just needed a nudge in the right direction. Not saying I'm right either, I just hope I am. If RD is still our owner by the end of August that will probably be that. More of the same, only now with the Club being endlessly for sale because it gives RD and RM what they think is a powerful lever to keep unhappy fans quiet. But that trick won't work indefinitely. I would prefer a new start, even with all the uncertainties that brings. Cowering under the bedsheets at night terrified of the consequences of a future without Duchatelet's 'financial security' is not for me. We are not standing still under his ownership, we are sliding backwards. Declining into a long term lower league future.
The background information is out there. What does that mean in plain English? It is one of those flowery statements that say nothing.
You have to understand the difference beteeen being a genuine bona fide “ITK” and someone who just passes on info without asking questions....
