Morning all, another hot day is here. No sign of a breeze, but the windows and doors are open to catch the cooler air. Another flat stage in the Tour de France today, and despite his crash and loss of time, Chris Froome does not appear to be injured. Plenty of time to regain the loss of a minute.
Morning all, it is rather nice outside at this time of the morning. There is a fresh feel about it that will disappear as the sun rises above the barns. Today there is a team time trial at the Tour de France, something that Sky are usually rather good at. Yesterday there were numerous crashes and bloody bodies. Friend of mine here spent a couple of weeks in hospital after coming off in a local race. He has stopped taking part.
I guess Mondays are not good for you , But you know we are in there fighting for you ,Our litle bird man
I see that those naughty Spanish wine producers are passing off millions of litres of their produce as French. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-44764880 I did buy some recently at a very cheap price that looked very similar to my everyday tipple. It didn't taste the same so I had a good look at the label. In the smallest of print size it did say that it was Spanish, but was designed to look like the French one. I must take my reading glasses with me in future.
Best wishes Dave I love reading about all these wine scandals. There's been some particularly audacious ones over the years. Never a good idea to muck around with the French on this - they take a very dim view of anyone trying to pinch their local names!
"The Billionaire's Vinegar" is a very readable and entertaining account of perhaps the most infamous French wine fraud...by Benjamin Wallace I think. Worth a read!
