It sounds like we tried, but Naismith still wanted most of the wages he was entitled to. It sounds like we knocked a bit more off compared to his January loan, but it's still expensive.
City used some senior players in the first half of the 2-1 win at King's Lynn last night in a 3-4-3 formation with Srbeny, Pukki and Hernandez up front. This produced a lot of movement up front and Pukki looked lively, getting into good positions and also laying off balls for others. DF had this to say: “You could see that he had some smart movements and he was pretty close on two or three times to score a goal, he is also an experienced player, wherever he played he was also able to be there with goals and assists. I think you could also see that he was not really fresh as normally he is a really quick player but you got the feeling that sometimes, okay his legs were a bit heavy, but we have to prepare him for the season and not the pre-season.” Given he's only been here a week, he's bound to feel the heavy training, but his interplay with the others seemed good. Leitner was a deep playmaker alongside Trybull and they were flanked by Passlack and Stiepermann as WBs. The second half, when all the goals were scored was mainly our U23s against a completely changed 11 for the Linnets. Unfortunately Vrancic has a lingering pelvic problem from last season and is like to be out until the end of August. Buendia won't feature until the German games. http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/king-s-lynn-town-2-norwich-city-1-reaction-1-5596043
I hate it when players get injured in pre-season or just before. It always seems to basically rule them out for the first half season as they are playing catch up on fitness.
As it carried over from last season, at least a lot of recuperation has already taken place. Also we have decent cover with Leitner, McLean and Stiepermann all at CM. McLean will most likely play there against Lincoln on Tuesday.
Just catching up on the interviews of the new signings. Had a look back and not seen them on here, but thought they were interesting. Sorry if they have already been posted somewhere.
Where has it gone wrong for Wildschut? Are Wigan still interested in taking him on loan? Is Jarvis likely to figure this year or is he still injured? Looking at the NCFC website shows that we have only 2 goalkeepers on the books in the 1st team. Are we expecting another to be brought in?
Yeah you have to think another keeper will be brought in, maybe older youth to develop in the future?
Wildschut did play at Kings Lynn. Expect he may go out on loan if we sign another wide player. Oxborough could be the third keeper if we don't sign another.
Yes Please! Yes Please! Yes Please! https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footba...pools-ben-woodburn-wanted-on-loan_330145.html
Here's hoping the link between DF and Herr Klopp means that we are able to get him on loan then. Edit - I'm REALLY pleased that I've decided to get a 'shared' ST and I'm looking forward to a much more exciting season!!!
Do you recon the first game will sell out? Was tempted to try and get a ticket. If not, I'll probably head to the Cup match to see the new guys. No many decent home friendlies again this year, are there?
How much game time is Woodburn likely to get with Pukki, Srbeney and even Oliveria available? Klopp would only let him go if he felt that he would get regular starts.
There are NO home friendlies this year, as the pitch at CR needed to be completely relaid and you could be lucky in getting a single ticket, as some people will still be on holiday. If DF continues as he did last season, he'll field a pretty strong team in cup games.
Ah, yea, that's right. Didn't get many good ones last summer either though, did we. Yea, I don't mind seeing some kids, he will probably use it as a chance to break in players like the Argentinian lad.
Don't hold your breath apparently... "Matt Jarvis’s injury nightmare is showing little sign of coming to an end at Norwich City." http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/jarvis-injury-update-1-5596851 Sounds more positive about Morris and Cantwell though.
