My lowly club here in Toronto is doing the equivalent of winning a treble one season and being relegated the next.
Didn't know you were Canadian buddy ... which team is that ?? Tried out a Tim Hortons that has opened nearby for the first time a couple of months ago, had this over-sweet iced coffee thing which was frankly disgusting and a bagel with cream cheese which wasn't much better. Will give their normal coffee a try sometime though
TFC is the club. Won everything last season and are at the bottom of the table halfway though this season. Yes, Tim Hortons was once quality, but like most things that achieve commercial success, the standard has fallen.
Think Froome may encounter some less than enthusiastic welcomes. noticeable how much hostility there is towards Sky/Froome at the TdF than the Giro or Vuelta.
Did you check out this info Sky released from Froomes Giro win re. diet etc.............interesting stuff
somehow the french have decided everyone must be clean while the italians in particular think you are not trying hard enough if you are not doped to the gills. We all know whats gone on here and the french are right to boo him off the stages.
Read that he likes an omelette for breakfast On the bike he's just consuming simple sugars in different forms, I'm sure the French would fine with that as long as they're in the form of madeleines But no, if you're into cycling or sport it's always interesting to see what the pros are eating ... also fun to see the stage breakdowns with wattage/duration and everything
With the TdF it's all politics buddy, Hinault and co don't like the fact that all the long standing French records are being broken, Froome just happens to be the guy doing it ... they're very protective over all this stuff in a way that the Italians and Spaniards don't seem to be I'm not saying he's clean 100% (we don't know, and might have to wait a long time or never find out) but doping changes, it has and always will and if Froome/Sky have a program going then they've got it down to an art and do it better than every other team. They'll all be on the same or similar stuff if it's going on, it's just not the same stuff as the Armstrong era or ones before it
It'll make it extra fun to watch anyway ... one interviewer asked him what his reaction would be if a French spectator turns up dressed in an inhaler costume, Froome said he hopes he falls off the side of the mountain
so Porte Quintana & Froome all lose time on a flat day. This could be fun though the number of crashes these days is getting ridiculous.
Juggs Halep out of Wimbledon, all the top women's seeds doing their best to let Williams (S) get to the final.
Another Dunlop killed in a motorcycle crash, the third family member to die following his father and uncle. The races and time trials on what are basically public roads should be banned, the Isle of Man TT has taken many lives down the years and for what?, the need for speed. Yes nobody twisted Dunlop's arm to compete in the Skerries Co Dublin race but if the option wasn't there he wouldn't have tragically died, the law on all seating at football stadia was introduced to save lives maybe a law on motorcycle races only permitted on safety checked purpose built racetracks are the answer? William Dunlop killed in crash at Skerries 100 road races https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/northern-ireland/44754057
I think it's ridiculous. The thing is a top rider wouldn't attempt it. They are on proper tracks competing. This lad died in practice.. not even the damn race. I'm not a real fan of bikes unlike a couple guys i know who would be stewards and **** but they love it. it's as risky an activity as you can get up to outside racing each other on motorway.
