With the three new signings on the way all we lack now is a Fabregas replacement. If we can get the Fabregas Replacement, I'd say top four is a guaranteed and we should be able to push for the FA/Carling Cup this year. We are stronger in EVERY position except down the middle of midfield, and a fabregas replacement is all we need. Now, we wait...
I agree if we tie up the deals we look close to finishing we will be looking and waiting for the Fabregas replacement. Looks to me like Wenger has added players in the correct positions and looks to have gone for good quality but time will tell. Bring on the Fabregas replacement and we are set for a much better season than people are expecting.
Can't wait to see who comes on board in the midfield positions. I really would like it if we were to have an out and out forward who can conjure up a goal almost out of nothing. Like gold dust these players are I'm sure.
Can't help but think with the exception of Mertesacker he's reverted to type and gone for the slightly obscure Wenger bargains. Not convinced.
Assuming with mertesaker our high line is going that means our defense overall would be better, and the left back only really has to be average to be an improvement Just hopefully he spends for the midfielder!
And brazil have bugger all options in terms of left backs, two quality right backs but bugger all in terms of left backs!
No, a creative midfielder being brought in = You've filled in the holes in your starting XI The creative midfielder being as good as, or close to as good as, Fabregas, plus Mertesacker adapting to the faster more physical PL, Park proving to be a better buy than Chamakh and Dos Santos proving to be better than Clichy = stronger than last year I still remember how Liverpool fans were raving about how they'd replaced Alonso with Aquilani, or when they reckoned that Dossena couldn't possibly be worse than Riise
Mertesacker will be a great buy. Our defence and keeper now look alot better than last year. Now we just need a defensive midfielder (who will sit) and a creative midfielder. I would rather get the defensive midfielder. Then we can play song as a box to box player and wilshire in the playmaker position. If we can get both a creative and defensive midfielder then wilshire can drop into the box to box position and we can bench song.
I guess it depends on wengers instructions to him then. That will be fine if fringpong is told to sit in and not attack basically ever
I think Frimpong is the type of player who loves to tackle and win the ball back. That said, he is really good at bringing the ball out of CDM into attacking areas.

we lost with 8 key players out injured or suspended. Add to this 3 new signings and this is 11. Can we play better with 11 new players compared to the team that lost at OT?
I've been saying it for a while, if we want a creative midfielder, we should sign Gotze. Break the bank to sign this kid, he's better than fabregas was at 19.
