The Premiership is watched all over the world - think Fernandes would be happy for Air Asia to be sponsor if another company doesn't come up with a big offer

Fair enough although the Air Asia logo isn't all that I'm ok with it. Just so long as QPR still stays QPR and doesn't become something like PPDTR for the local audience: Penjaga Penjaga Dari Taman Ratu! (bad translation for sure)

I can't see it being Team Lotus to be honest. Anyone who knows anything about motor sport will tell you that in effect it's not even a real brand. Fernandes and the current "Team Lotus" F1 team don't actually have anything to do with either Lotus Cars, or with the original Team Lotus which ran cars in the world championships of Formula One, Formula Two and IndyCars from 1954 to 1994. The current “Team Lotus” cars are just rebranded 1Malaysia F1 cars. Fernandes leased the right to use the words “Team Lotus” from Lotus cars in 2010, but Lotus Cars subsequently terminated the license at the end of last year, and the continued use of the words “Team Lotus” is subject to legal action from Lotus Cars. In fact you’ll see that this year Lotus Cars started to sponsor the Renault F1 team (in direct competition to Team Lotus), and that team are now known as Lotus Renault GP…. All very confusing, but my point is that “Team Lotus” isn’t a brand, it’s just a name. It’s much more likely that the sponsor would be someone like the car manufacturer Caterham Cars (which Fernandes brought in April this year).

Caterham Cars! F*ck me, I'd rather go back to Binatone!

Informative resume of Team Lotus, Kaspers. Filled in some gaps for me

Air Asia are already a 'platinum partner' at Leicester City and the Tune Group sponsor referees. It's possible that these deals stand in the way of QPR shirt sponsorship. If it was straightforward for Tony to use his own brands then it would have been announced by now. I'm still hoping that Mittal uses his connections. Kingfisher remains a possibility.
