What a brilliant little snippet at the end of BBC presentation... Bobby Robson, Gazza, Lineker... great days... lets hope we can exorcise ghosts...
i hope croatia beat russia tonight, then perhaps the russian public will back us to beat croatia, rather than wanting us to lose if we beat them in the semi.
slightly off topic https://www.chesterfield-fc.co.uk/news/2018/july/20180705-maguire-heading-to-russia/ Good morning. Laurence Maguire has unfortunately picked up Russian 'flu, which is obviously quite disappointing. I've had a word with him this morning and told him that this afternoon he's got to fly out to Russia to have some medical tests. He's got to be back here for training on Monday. The bad news is the fact that he's got Russian 'flu. The good news is that he's going to fly to Russia to see his brother play for England in the quarter-finals of the World Cup. He's absolutely thrilled and he's sorted it out with his family that he's going. It's great for our club that one of our players is going to be watching England play. Take care, Martin great from martin allen
Sweden manager Janne Andersson: "Yes, I definitely believe England are good enough to win it. They are forceful, well-organised. I'd like to pay tribute to the team and coach. "They are a good footballing side. I think they would be perfectly able to go all the way"
That's the first time in a long time I've watched England in tournament football and thought this is comfortable. Beginning to believe this could be our time. At least we are guaranteed two more games. The final or the 3rd/4th play off. Maguire was colossal.
Hard to believe that just over a year ago Maguire was in a back line getting thumped 4-nil by Palarse.
Peter Schmeichel putting a value of 60 to 80 million on Harry and expects him to go to one of the top clubs soon.
That big nosed Scouse gobshite who spouts ****e on Skysports reckons Harry'll {quote} fit Liverpool's footballing philosophy perfectly.{endquote} Hope not. Otherwise half of the back four of the greatest English team who ever lived n breathed n robbed hubcaps will have been pissed away by our couldn't run a ****ing bath nevermind a football club, clueless ****s of owners. What could have been, eh?
Agreed. But I doubt the Central and South American nations took note. They probably believe they didn't cheat enough.
Oddly enough when he was talking about top clubs he didn't mention the bin dippers. He thought Real, Barca, or one of the Manchesters.
