sterling has shown he is ****. rashford pen was more contribution than anything sterling has done all tournament.
Pickford deserves all the plaudits, made saves at crucial times and showed confidence beyond his years, well done lad.
yes if only other short players like sterling would follow his example England could actually win this thing.
Sterling could be 8ft tall but he'd be an 8ft headless chicken instead of a 5ft nothing headless chicken.
true.... one occasion there it was him and delph going for one ball and sterling pulled back... couldn't believe it. if a player of mine left a ball in the opponents box to a journeyman like delph...
thing is Sterling was pretty much our only threat from open play for much of the game and he made numerous good runs the only problem , but it is a big one , is the total lack of end product. Thought Pickford , Maguire , Trippier & Henderson all had really good games but again it was the "creative" players who were poor.
Well done England. Another good game for Henderson and Pickford. Pickford hasn't grown any during this tournament but I'm sure he's lost a few pounds Apparently at half time Henderson went looking for an update on the Liverpool score and went back in the dressing room shouting ''It's coming home, come on we can do this'' [Liverpool won 7-0]
Henderson was phenomenal' Sweden 0-2 England please log in to view this image Rio Ferdinand Former England defender on BBC One Getty ImagesCopyright: Getty Images I think Jordan Henderson's stock has gone up. He proved he can play it forward and he's done it better than anyone else today. The defensive work; the ground he covered, was phenomenal. If Pirlo plays that ball we are sat here celebrating it so why not Jordan? It's his character. A big part of his make up is that.
Not sure how this works but as first through, do England get to play in red should they choose to? [both Russia and Croatia play in red].
Granada Reports News just stated Man Utd players were instrumental to England's win and then gave a grudging mention to Pickford. Talk about keeping it in Manchester.
