All this confidence is really worrying me....I feel like Cassandra. My belief is going exponentially down every time someone sings ICH....and there's an awful lot of that going on However, I never thought we'd win the penalty shootout.
On that point I personally don't remember it being so widespread during a tournament... Win today and hype will reach unbelievable levels
Good Omen! I managed to empty the dishwasher before the kettle boiled. Just need to stroke the lucky gnome's nose at kick off and we're good to go. It's Coming Home
There was the usual despondency (or general cynicism) during qualifying, but we got a decent group so we thought we'd get out of it. We played well during the group stages and qualified with A GAME IN HAND. Suddenly a few favourites were losing and the draw opened up. Often we know we have to play a top side in the first knockout stage or the quarters....though the quarter finals rarely bothered us. Now people have gone from 'looks promising' to pre-ordained. These are dangerous times....as we all know...it's the hope.....
Like Fran I am uncomfortable with the optimism as too many times it's been unfounded. However, you cannot deny the facts. I emptied the dishwasher before the kettle boiled and have a lucky gnome. It's coming home, it's coming home, football's coming home.
Do it blatantly. The customers will appreciate it as I am sure there are some there that don't want to be!
