It certainly was , the tournament as a whole was great , the final was one of the worst games I've ever seen

    It was shocking.
Same final as 4 years earlier which was one of the best

Germany where by far the best team in that tournament but got dragged down by a very poor Argie team.

I think the team has surpassed most people’s Expectations. As have Sweden.

I don’t get disappointed with the team. I do with fickle support, especially those who whinged about the team early on but are now changing their tune.

    I'm not convinced personally.
Think that Stones and the 2 Harry's are carrying them massively.!!
Time for 2 or 3 more to step up.
I ain't taken in by the Media hype it's going really overboard.
I can understand the younger generation getting carried away though and why not enjoy it !!:emoticon-0148-yes:

You call it hype ( I don’t do mainstream media) I call it support.

It’s far easier for some to stick with the “they’re ****” tag so they can revel in some self adulterating back slapping when we don’t win it. Only one team can.

Some would prefer to watch the other side than watch a last 16 game or prefer that we’re knocked out because the news are going a bit too OTT for their liking. Quite sad really.

    Everybody us different.
I struggle for football to really grab me nowadays .
Wish it did but i get very easily bored with it.
PS I don't think anybody likes us losing its just frustration.

Frustration at the media getting behind a team doing well & exceeding expectations? Strange.

In Euro 88, we lost all 3 games to IRL, HOL and RUS.

The media were calling Bobby Robson all the ****s as a consequence.

The FA did well to stick with him and not bow down to Fleet St pressure (they hate non M25 managers).

There was zero expectation in 1990 because of the **** in Euro 88, but slowly it started to build.

A poncey opera soundtrack Nessoon Dormer and Gazza roaring in self pity - unfortunately it reeled in all the non football types who'd sneered at our game previously.

Another negative was the start of this 'we're jinxed' penalty shootout nonsense - it's almost as if some people revel in the melodrama and tension.

Can't they **** off and watch 'Love Island' instead?

My son said he would sing a song if we beat Columbia and we thought FFS Anyway, he came up with this and we all joined in. Subscribe, like and share and let's see if we can get it to Russia.

This is the first World Cup since 1990 watching England that I have really enjoyed and embraced.
My feeling is we will beat Sweden and lose to Croatia in the Semi Final who I expect to beat Russia.
But once this WC is finished I'm done with football for a long time. I won't be watching City live this season so I expect my interest will wain quite quickly.
Going to concentrate on my other big hobby cycling to fill my Saturdays.

Poncey opera soundtrack? Stirring and more classy than anything we have come up with.
