I've read all comments on the best manager ever, I think when Brown took over at Hull City things where at a low, Brown desperate to get back into management pleaded for the chance. Don't forget who gave him the chance ( AP ). He was one of the boys one of the characters, he went from Browne to the Gaffer the term used by the other characters of the squad , the camaraderie seemed to lift the spirits of all players and results Happened confidence grew. Results came because of team work, a great atmosphere in the camp by all involved . Lady luck played a big part in success. Yes Phil Brown Did Well so did the other members of Hull City, Everyone in the Club reached the Best Position ever not one person. Things now are I believe are in the best position for going forward I have ever known. The Allams--Adam Pearson--Nigel Pearson--The Best Young Squad as we saw on Tuesday ,which are improving by leaps and bounds in a very positive way . Legends and Favourite's are never forgotten always remembered as will Phil Brown and Ash. I'm looking forward to the next Legends the Next Heroes of Hull City. You certainly don't get the bull or dishonesty from this Hierarchy, you get the facts the truth,Honesty. Patience. UTT
i reckon brownsys demise began when duffen came on board, far too close these 2.his ego went mental.its great to see the new regime sorting things out.i would have been happy to just stay up after the start we made so lets just see where we go.slowly we are making a team of solid players. ie rosenior chester gerrard(love to sign him)koren fryatt.
Yeah he definitely went downhill when Duffen came, I'll never forget the all time low of victory at Wembley. It's daft to compare Brown and Pearson at the moment because one took us to the Premiership and the other... err... nothing...
I think Brown believed his own hype and had that inflated by Duffen. The new management set up impresses mre greatly.. AP is a football man and knows how to run a football business sucsessfully The Allems are local men who love the city and club, however are business minded and want to sucseed at the right manner, important for the long term future of the club NP and his staff are amazing, no nonsense, direct, always looking at the future, look how quickly we relaced Mannone and Ayala, all the new players have masses of respect for him The players are now gelling and forming a great spirit, all seem to be winners and looking at becoming a great team
I'd have voted for Brown as best manager ahead of Taylor if he hadn't lost the plot in the last year and a half, and leaving us with a club hanging by a thread at the beginning of this season. The reason I was so disappointed with Brown in the end was because I believed him when he was talking about financial responsibility when we got promoted and it turned out to be empty words, almost a betrayal. The Pearsons are doing a tremendous job of rebuilding, there are always going to be glass half empty merchants like TWF and TonyM who posts on the Hull Daily Mail who try to burst everybodies bubble but I can't remember a time when I've been so excited about the direction the club is going in, with the Pearsons and the Allems. UTT!
i see that senor brown is at it again,he is blaming all of the pne team, with the exception of the keeper and one youth ,as not commited, not having the right attitude, having a losing mentality ,he states that this is not his way .his is about a winning attitude and crossing the white line, same old, same old.what a man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hows the woman phil talked out of jumping off the humber bridge, anybody know? none of the players who were their can ???????
brown for me sounds an odd thing to say, but without him..we wouldnt have to have this rebuilding job, because we would never have got far enough for it to come apart in the 1st place... who knows what would have happened if brownie didnt arrive at our club, wed have either kept parky, or hired some other also ran from around at the time, dowie, megson etc...wed have gone to league one, or maybe had 5 or 6 very safe, steady years in the championship, no financial trouble, no danger, probably little excitement...brown and duffen gave us wembley, anfield, the emirates, white hart lane ..etc/.. and while that doesnt give them the excuse, to act like knobs , give ridiculous contracts out to crap players, and mistreat the system to an extent.. im still glad they came- wouldnt swap thise years for the world...until somebody else takes us back there, then hel always be the greatest to me
I couldn't agree more dj. We might have been close to the edge but it was worth it for our day at Wembley. The first 3 months in the prem will be forever etched in our history, the other 18 months or so I'd rather forget. So it's got to be Brownie, he gave us the best of times, he gave us the worst of times, but it was one hell of a ride.
