Palacios will sign, it's just the damn international clearance, work permit whatever you want to call it. Crouch seems unlikely now according to Sky Sports News. Mind you we've been linked with other strikers as well: Bendtner (in Danish Press), Cisse from Freiburg, Lukaku on loan.
According to this Mirror Journalist: @reluctantnicko Alan Nixon Crouch telling England chums he isn't going to Stoke. Ffs. Who's going to tell Tony?
I've had hope on the Bendter deal for a while now, loads of times him and arsenal have said he's on his way, but won't say who to, and that sounds alot like the way we do business. Fingers crossed eh.
@reluctantnicko Alan Nixon Crouch Stoke decision official about 2. Think we know what that will be ...
Nick Crouch Pott's speakin wiv fork tounge Bendtner, interesting let's hope so. With Jerome too? 3/4 million for Jerome would be OK. Who's telling T.P. Well, Twitter DID say that Crouch was at the Moat House on Sat night? Which "TWIT" said he was? Off topic, anyone have song/chant for Wilson P yet?
According to some bloke on the Oatcake, Rob Dorset told him at the training ground that Bendtner is coming up for talks. This certainly confirms one thing: I'm really starting to clutch at straws.
SSN update - Same with Palacios. They're still saying they're awaiting confirmation. They've also said we've got interest in Bendtner and Jerome. So no new news really.
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_7138907,00.html This may explain why there's been a delay in the Palacios deal. Typical Redknapp. Skysports.com understands that Tottenham Hotspur are close to finalising a deal for Scott Parker. The England international midfielder has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs this summer, but the Footballer of the Year surprisingly started the season at West Ham in the Championship. Queens Park Rangers have also shown an interest, but Spurs have been in pole position to land him and now look set conclude a deal. At one point the deal looked to be scuppered as Jake Livermore rejected a loan move to West Ham, and then the two clubs could not reach a compromise agreement. With the Parker deal in doubt, Spurs put the block on Wilson Palacios' proposed deal with Stoke City- as they did not want to be left short in midfield. But the Palacios deal will now be given the green light with Parker's impending capture.
Re Luakaku - in an earlier thread I said that I did not think that SCFC have a coherent strategy when they enter a transfer window.Clearly the people responsible do not even know the rules. Our need for forwards is now beginning to take on that look of desperation. NickyB likes to quote Shakespeare -our ability to procrastinate puts Hamlet in the shade, and look what happened to him! Personally given a choice between Bendtner and Crouch, I would have liked Bendtner. Palacios actually signed yet, or are we about to clinch defeat from the jaws of victory with that signing too? Re the above: please tell me it is not defeat fromthe jaws of victory. This is shambolic to the point of total incompetence.
Just on Twitter about Palacios @SirTonyPulis Tony Pulis @Homzy So everything is signed, he is officially a Stoke player but we have decided to not announce anything? Homzy Mark Holmes @SirTonyPulis Yes it is. Done on Sat. He'll return to club tomorrow to have interview and pics etc. Hopefully as part of double deal. DONE.
On the BBC: Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp on Peter Crouch: "There's a few clubs want him. It's up to him. It's an area we are overloaded in." Doesn't sound very desperate to keep him...
