    Good afternoon all.
Seeing as though England seems to be the topic of conversation at the moment (as nothing happening on the Leeds front atm)
    Heres my take on things.
England were made to look very good against two pi** poor teams, our 2nd string not very good against a 2nd string Belgium side, and if Columbia with the right attitude & had played to their capabilities we would be on the plane home by now as we were just bang average.I still think Marcus Rashford missing that chance against Belgium was very suspect, but hey it worked out,we have now got to play the poorest team left in the competition Sweden, whilst Belgium have Brazil :emoticon-0102-bigsm this world cup has worked out very well for England in this side of the draw,it's now or never for england as we will always be playing the weaker teams.I wish the lads the very best, but as of yet we have not played a descent side.
My take on the qualifying tables,to stop any suspect performances, and fielding weaker teams, would be the winner of that group is given the choice of which side of the draw they want to play.Having said all that go England,as i am enjoying the ride as much as anyone <cheers>

    No changes with the committee/coach travel/fares/membership fees/etc

Actually it was the quickest meeting ever in all the AGM's we've held over the last 25 years, only 35 minutes :emoticon-0102-bigsm they usually drag on for two hours

    Run that by me again.
Let’s say Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Spain, England, France, Italy and Holland finish top
Scotland, San Marino, Monaco, Australia, Peru, Costa rico, Panama and Greenland finish second.

Take me through the process. I think I see a flaw in your plan...

You mean all 8 of the group winning teams would want to play on the side of the draw that has Scotland in it, as this would be the easier route :emoticon-0140-rofl:

That was pretty much my thinking.
I eagerly await southernwhite to explain it.
At the moment his idea looks like something resulting from LL and Mike copulating.

We were clogged and pulled down at every play by the south American thugs.the referee was a shsmbles and did well to keep the score even.the big **** who scored it should have been one of several sent off.you try playing football against a team of thugs and cheats.we were lucky not to have anyone crippled.if we had a decent ref then we would have beaten the cheats easy.

All the teams are there on merit,we played Columbia because they won their group, beating 2 good sides in Poland and Senegal. We now play Sweden because they finished above the World cup favorites Germany and knocked out the Swiss who drew with Brazil. So they finished above the favorites and beat the team who drew with Brazil second favorites,if that makes them weak <doh>

Evening one and all. Back from a few days in Spain, confirmed by the club. One season loan to VVV-Venio. Hopefully clearing the decks for a couple of decent signings. Forest seem to making a statement of intent. Bournemouth fined £4.75 million for breaking FFP rules so basically we should just ****ing ignore them, they've paid for that with money found in the back of the chairman's sofa.

    <doh> Thanks for that Chippy.
I will give it my best shot.
    OK so here goes

The highest seeded winners from each group choosing their runners up opponents,eg say Brazil were the highest seeded group winners they would have first choice of runners up from any group, say belgium were next highest seed winners of a group, they would then have choice of whats left of any runners up from any group, and so on.
Phew :emoticon-0147-emo: It's only an idea though.but it could work ? can you imagine the teams managers or spokes persons gathered for a press conference saying who their country will be playing in the next round, could be a good watch.:emoticon-0126-nerd:

i think the sheer randomness of it,and relatively short time would make it very difficult if not impossible for bribes, even if some persons were that way inclined.

But the way the groups are spaced for each teams rest, would mean adding weeks to the tournament, and it wouldn't fit in the closed season then.

Some nice sound bites from Angus Kinnear on our transfer policy... which I have kindly translated from marketing spiel into English for you:
“It’s absolutely under control”.... we’re ****ting ourselves
“when you look at how the market’s operating and what people are demanding in the transfer market, loans are something we’ll use very actively”... we can’t afford the players we want because we spunked the cash on the coach and have no money left

    On Lewis baker:
“he was frustrated because one of his loans didn’t work out last year and that was very much down to style of football. We think we can put that right.”... he was frustrated because he wasn’t good enough to get in the Boro team last year... we’re confident he is plenty good enough for this one
