    Not seen this match but for me he's first choice right now. Redmond being the other natural choice for the right hand side but he's mostly been played on the left.

    Will have to see what formation we go with tho.

    don't forget though , our Mohamed is to come in yet. Think Hughes will play 3 at the back with Bertrand and Cedric as wing backs. No way will JWP get into the middle 3?

    I was including Ely, yes. Right hand side of front 3 is between Redmond, Sims and JWP. Possibly Long.

    That was promising. A good run out against a good side. Schalke got a lot of possession in the last quarter of an hour, but we looked quite impressive at times.

    A few of the younger players didn't do themselves any harm, Valery at RB looks a real prospect.
    Assuming we keep Cedric, I would like to see him as his back up
    Gabby looked totally disinterested when the ball isn't coming his way near the penalty box

    To be fair that was probably one of his weaker performances in a Saints shirt. I know it's only a friendly but passing, tracking back and link up play was appalling. Did he even have a shot?

    Not a bad result, considering it's the first game and we were playing in conditions we're not used to. Really pleased to see some of the academy lads getting a run out and making a good impression.

    Just got back to hotel,boy was that hot and sticky.good fun to be at.The Chinese will cheer anything and support everyone they just want fun.Agree with you Valery looks very exciting.counted about forty Saints fans.suspect they're all loonies.
