Priced out of signing Allison and Oblak?, If so where's all the money gone? <yikes>

"Liverpool reportedly make a decision over who will be No 1 at Anfield next season as we round-up the latest transfer rumours on Thursday, July 5.

Loris Karius is to remain Liverpool's No 1 after the club were priced out of deals for Alisson and Jan Oblak, reports the Mirror.

The German keeper's two errors were partly responsible for Liverpool's Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid in May."

<wah>

I can see Klopp being stubborn here and keeping Karius. I like the fact that Klopp doesn't just spend, he has his key targets, however at times it can be too restrictive.

We need a keeper. It's been so obvious since the day he arrived at the club. It's got nothing to do with the CL final.

Well if his confidence is low club need to act before its too late.

Klopp is a stubborn ****er, but IF Karius stays as number one keeper and has a mare of a season any other good work and the contribution of our new players goes out of the window and we'll be here in 12 months saying Klopp ****ed up giving the lad the extra season.
There's too much at stake in the Premier League to let sentiment get in the way, Klopp needs to be fair but ruthless when changes are needed.

We have a history of stubborn managers.

Still waiting for it to be in a good way lol

Yeah, but Klopp is a different breed of stubborn, like Sky said it's been obvious since his first day as our manager we needed a tried and tested top keeper, one of his first decisions was to give Mignolet a new 5 year contract.<laugh>

Perhaps more a case of not being willing to pay the price, as opposed to not being able to.
I'm in two minds about this, I object to us being taken to the cleaners, but having no better alternative to Karius is a potentially season-breaking risk.

Football transfer fees are crazy right now and Klopp was prepared to pay over the odds for VvD, it's not his money ffs and if the extra few million in spending terms rake in big returns in future seasons any top keeper coming here will have virtually done so for nothing.
Goalkeeping errors have cost the club dearly in recent seasons, Klopp needs a visit to Specsavers for some new lenses if he doubts that.

Depends on who Sky means by "he", but if he means JK then he's right. Mig was never going to be good enough.
If he means Karius then he's still right - Klopp bought him based on his performances in Germany, but he looked all at sea here and Mig had to be re-instated.

If he means Klopp (as he obviously does) then Klopp as already attempted to address the situation by signing Karius.
